Brief history: Been playing melee since '03 with friends. Grew up, "found myself", learned about esports. Found out melee had a competitive scene(2014). Eventually got around to learning basic competitive moves/theory. My issue is there is only so much i can learn from playing on a gamecube. I want to study the frame rates, hit boxes, and spacing at a much higher level; not through youtube videos and articles(im a kinesthetic learner).
Recently an acquaintance i met through locals(which i only started to attend recently) told me about being able to mod a wii. Which then led to a discussion about 20xx. I WANT.
I guess my question(s) is/are: What is the best option when going about modding a wii? Is it better to just get a wiiU and do the same?(then also allowing me to practice smash4). Some of the tutorials on youtube seem reliable, but is there a best option to follow? outside of the consul, an SD card, and a controller is there anything else i need?
You dont have to answer all of the questions, but any advise/opinions are greatly appreciated.
