Best HDTV for Melee?

So I was wondering what would be the best HDTV to play SSBM with (Dolphin). A monitor with component input would be preferable, but not essential. £120 or under would be great.

The reason I say HDTV is because there are literally zero CRTs anywhere near me. Where I live, there aren't any Goodwills or thrift stores or anything like that, and I've never seen one just lying on the side of the road (the idea of a TV on the side of the road is plain crazy to me.) Nothing on Craigslist and on eBay, there is literally ONE CRT, but it's like $80 and it has a DVD player, which just adds extra weight. The rest of the listings on eBay are collection only items for countries I'd literally have to book a plane to just to pick up the damn thing. On top of all that, I just like having all my devices lead to one display.

Thanks!

Monitors are much better than HDTVs. Also, more competitive gamers know more about them than HDTVs

I recommend using a monitor and getting a component-to-HDMI converter. I've heard that the Wii HDMI adapter has a frame of lag. It'll cost you about $60, from what I've seen

A suggested monitor ($160)

If you go with an HDTV, use component cables to make the Wii display in 480p which helps reduce lag

I agree that monitors are much better than TVs for this game, or any SD game. You want to find the monitor with lowest latency also, such as 5ms or 2ms. The one I play on is a 2ms and to me, it's almost the same as a CRT.

I wasn't paying attention while writing this post. By HDTV, I meant monitor :p

Both replies were incredibly helpful, so thank you very much!

Fizzy did some testing and shows you his findings in this wonderful thread:

It is a follow-up so also read his original one, there's a link to it in the thread. His replies to comments are also worth reading.

I would go and buy his recommended setup:
The Sewell wii to hdmi + the BenQ RL2455HM(one of the monitors he tested)

The monitor is also only 130£ on amazon atm: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00...&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=ASUS+VH238H
