I would hate it, the amount of angry nerds all up in here would ruin the community, i play fighting games on PS3 and most of the time i get rage mail for example.
"You spammur" mainly due to how they dislike how i play or they curse me out, wanna know how they get to this point? Cuz they lost, imagine you beating someone and they beat you and you both have close matches, you leave the lobby due to life then you come back on and you get a message saying
"lol **** you *****" or "yeah run away".
Not to mention messages such as "you suck" honestly i'm glad Nintendo doesn't allow this option, just play the game and leave it you don't need to communicate with each other and if we did have the option i guarantee we'd just be talking smack to each other due to some people getting buttblasted when they lose.
Behold, there is an option to satisfy everyone, including those who had bad experiences with humans online and don't want to talk at all: disable the existing messaging system. If there was one to begin with, it would be easy to make it something like this:
- communication between players functions through "mail". When not playing, players can send messages to other players they know the name of
- as a user, you may set options like "Do not receive messages", "Receive messages from friends only", "Receive messages from everyone".
- additionally, there should be features like "Block user" / "Report user" (for abusive language)
- after playing, the game could show a context menu. It shows "recently played with" and then the last xx users, and a "send friend request" button. If the other player wants to, you can now be friends and chat! If not, you should be blocked to be asked again, at least for some time, so no invite spamming happens.
I think this would be a much nicer solution than plainly disallow any form of communication between players, even friends. The problem is, Nintendo is a honey badger, and honey badger dun care!
