Best Controller IYO for Super Smash Bros (specific model if possible)?

What kind of controllers do you use and why do you think it's the best for Super Smash Bros Brawl/PM? I have been using a GC controller for a while but now a few important buttons are very unresponsive (L and Y both which I used constantly for shield). So now I'm on the fence about which controller I should get for the game.

inb4 the keyboard GC controller

(OT: Also, where's the board around this place for finding people who wanna fight there and then? Either I'm blind or it doesn't exist outside of one topic.)

I had the official purple one, which to my understanding is the same with a shorter cord. I went over to gamestop to see if they sold one and I freaked out when I saw a white one. Then I saw it was this -> http://www.gamestop.com/gc/accessories/wii-gamecube-chameleon-controller/33617 . . . Which has me wary because it's 3rd party stuff.

I have a Wavebird right now but it's wireless and wireless is awful for online play from what I gather.

I use a wavebird and have been using it for aaaaaaaaages... Well, actually just since GCN came out, but same difference eh? Oh, but then again I just started playing competitive smash not too long ago. I play online frequently though. :D

The Gamestop controller is probably the best third-party controller, it's not as good as the official ones obviously but it doesn't feel like cheap crap like most others.

You could also see if people are selling controllers on Craigslist.

The white and silver controllers are the best because they tend to have more durable joysticks. However the rubber on white controllers is more likely to wear down than other models.

Eh, I guess I'll go over to gamestop then and get their controller. At least I'll get it instantly, maybe even an extension cord for the controller if need be.

Also, what about a board around here that has online matches set up so you can make separate topics instead of posting in a 200+ page topic? >_>

Not one that I know of for project M. That would be awesome to have a seperate board kinda like the general discussion board and Comstomized Content board. That would actually be epic! ^u^
