Smash 3DS Best 3DS for Smash

Out of the 3 3DS variations out there, peripherals aside, I feel as though the 2DS will be best suited for smash. Although its build may not fit in bigger hands, the position of the L+R button seem to be perfect for the game. (On a personal note, I think the circle pad for the 2DS is the better one out of the three, but that's just me)

Out of curiosity, which model do you feel is the best suited for smash?

I personally feel the XL will be the best, I have an original myself but I think the bigger screen could be a boon.

Also your points on the 2DS are pretty good though. I'd need to actually hold one to compare though

I have the original 3DS and i think it might work out.

I'm planning on getting a 3DS XL in addition to my 3DS since it worked out nicely at the Best Buy demo and I want a nice big display. My original works great though and the display has been enough for KI:U so it should be fine in a pinch.

The 2DS from the small amount I have used it doesn't feel comfy enough for a fast paced game like Smash.

3DS XL, it's larger and is much comfortable than the original since it has curved edges.

i also feel like the 2ds will be great to use because of were the buttons are and the circle pad and the L and R triggers i feel it would be great to hold and play on now if they release a 2ds XL then that would be even better

obvious choice is the XL but the 2DS actually has a nice feel to it in my opinion

The 3DS XL because of the bigger screen, and the 2DS because of where the L and R buttons are placed and how comfortable it'll feel. So... 3DS XL/2DS.

Yeah, I agree with ★Star™Kid★. 2DS is great because it might feel like an actual controller, however, I never tried it out, so I don't know. 3DS XL is the way to go for me, largely because of the larger screens. For now, I'll stick to the original 3DS.

2DS because these mugs, plus the circle pad and button placement is nice as well as the fact that its one piece and not a possibly problematic hinged screen. And is impossible to accidentally turn 3d on.

Impressions: Holy F&$% this thing feels amazing. I'm actually incredibly jealous of you 2DS owners right now. The triggers feel firm, the case is solid and soft-touch, it's absolutely ridiculous how good it feels. I can say without a doubt, if you have a 2DS, you are missing out if you do not already have this. I need to email PDP and tell them to make 3DS and 3DS XL grips like yesterday.

thanks @garrettyim for taking these pictures. I've also personally held this grip in my hand it it's EXTREMELY comfortable.
