Berea Battleground 9: this event is sooooo fine. The last edition was so good thanks to all of you coming out and supporting your local scene. Let's do it again!

Important note: this is under the new ruleset. Keep that in mind.

LOCATION:
-Math & Computer Science Building (MACS)

SCHEDULE:
-12:00 Noon: Venue opens
-1:00: Registration begins
-3:00 Melee/WiiU doubles registration ends and bracket begins
-5:00 Melee/Smash 4 SINGLES registration ends and bracket begins
-If the tournament does not end by 1 a.m., the remaining players will be given a tie and be paid out equally

GUIDELINES:
-Venue fee: $5 (will be waived if a full setup is brought*)
-Melee singles: $5
-Melee doubles: $5 per person
-Smash 4 doubles: $5 per person
-Smash 4 singles: $5
-Bracket or pools will be used depending on the number of entrants
-Payout is as follows:
10-29 entrants: 60-30-10
30-49 entrants: 55-25-15-5
50+ entrants: 50-25-15-5-2.5-2.5

Smash 4 RULESET:
-Items are set to off and none
-Pause and Handicap are disabled; Damage Ratio is 1.0
-2 stocks and 6 minute time limit for singles
-3 stocks, 8 minutes, Team Attack and Stock Sharing allowed for Doubles
-Sets are best of 3 games; best of 5 for Winner's Finals, Loser's Finals, and Grand Finals
-Customs and Equipment are turned off
-Mii Fighters other than 1111 are banned
-Amiibo are banned
-All Omega stages are banned, except for Wily Castle and Gaur Plains. If Final Destination is banned, so are these.
-First stage is decided by (Rock-Paper-Scissors) best of 1. Winner strikes from starters, then loser strikes twice from starters, then winner. (P1-P2-P2-P1)
-Following stages decided by winner banning one stage from all stages and then loser choosing. A new ban is required for each additional game; a stage does not remain banned for the whole set
-Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character
-You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list--both players will be disqualified
-Sudden Death with a tied percentage/stock count will NOT determine the outcome of a tied game; a playoff match with 1 stock/2 minutes will determine the winner
-There will be no loading anything on to the tournament consoles

Battlefield/Dream Land 64 (treated as equivalent)
Final Destination
Smashville
-Counterpick:
Town & City

MELEE RULESET:
-Items are set to off and none; pause disabled
-4 stocks and 8 minute time limit.
-2/3 games; 3/5 for Winner's, Loser's, and Grand Finals
-Wobbling past 300%, freeze glitch and infinite stalling are banned
-First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order
-Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character
-In a Best of 3 match, a player can ban 1 stage upon winning a game; in a Best of 5 match there are no stage bans
-Dave's Stupid Rule: A player cannot counterpick the last stage he/she won on unless mutually agreed to by both players

-Counterpick:
Pokemon Stadium (starter in doubles)
Mute City (pending)

It is imperative that players show up to their assigned matches on time so that the event can run as smoothly as possible. Refusing to comply with the TOs will result in your disqualification.
*Melee setup includes a CRT television, GameCube/Wii, and copy of the game.
*Smash 4 setup includes an HD television, Wii U, GameCube controller adapter, and copy of the game with all characters and stages (listed above) unlocked/purchased.
