I'm going to ask you guys what the most stable BrawlEX mod is, because every single one I've tried has the same issue: The Freeze Bomb. A Freeze Bomb is where the game freezes entirely without warning, and for no apparent reason. Even worse, is that Freeze Bombs happen during entirely random situations, so it's impossible to pin down exactly what's causing them.

The most aggravating aspect of Freeze Bombs is the NOISE they make--that irritating "Troll Buzz" that everybody loves to hate. I'd say it's a decent contender for the award of "Most Annoying Noise Imaginable".

Therefore, let me repeat:

What is the most stable BrawlEX mod out there, that is, the least likely to suffer from random Freeze Bombs?

BrawlEx freezes don't normally just happen in "entirely random situations". They usually happen because of either missing files, bad config files, or modules with bad ID numbers, and occasionally because a certain file has exceeded its limit. The only guaranteed way to avoid freezing is to compile your own collection of fighters, skins, etc. and set them up yourself, since that way you can monitor everything you put in yourself. I suggest checking the BrawlEx thread on the Brawl Vault (assuming the site is up), you might find something over there.

Thanks. Anyway, Nebulon's latest Brawl 4 All mod seems to be fairly stable, but Classic, HRC, and All-star modes are off limits (they WILL freeze as soon as you try to select a character). Using the "back out of CSS" rule after every match/target test/multi-man brawl, I very rarely experience any sort of game-freeze issues. The ones which do pop up are usually due to selecting a character, then cycling through his/her available alts, then backing out and trying to select someone else. Apparently, the game is designed to immediately load the character's data as soon as you select them. Backing out of a character selection without backing out to the main menus does NOT clear the game's "character cache".
