Being able to fight back against pokemon and assist trophies

I think it would make those items a lot more interesting and fun(not to mention, in the case of assist trophies, more balanced)

It's an interesting idea. I think it'd be a nice option, but I'm not sure I'd like it myself.

I'm pretty sure several ATs do actually take damage can be prematurely removed.

Or maybe I'm just always drunk when I play items on.

It could be that.

It could be that.
Phosphora, Dark Samus, Magus, Mother Brain, Dillon, Stafy, Midna, Girahim, Starman, lakitu can all be attacked and killed early. This is just off the top of my head.
Incidentally, it's mostly the harder-to-avoid Assists that can be damaged.

Is that right? It's probably just really hard to notice because they can't flinch and basically have infinite move priority.
