So I recently played falco at a tournament and did really good with the character my main is Marth and I play falco for fun.So tbh I never had the intention to use falco at a tournament until now.My question is....Can players be a plain out natural with characters they never played?I never played falco in Melee but do really good with him....I can't even play Fox and that's where most of falcos moveset comes from
Edit:Let me know if I should post these under the falco thread

Sure, some characters will complement a player's playstyle better than others. You gotta experiment and play em all to find out who you like the most.

However, just because you do better once or twice with a character does not mean you should switch mains. DO NOT MAKE THIS DECISION TOO QUICKLY. You can make any character your best character with enough determination and effort, you just gotta put in work.

In my experience, this is false. I may be a case example, so no statistical significance can be said. I play as Captain Falcon much more than I play as Peach and yet my Peach is monstrously better than my Falcon. This has been going on for probably 2 years so far. Peach just fits me so much better than any other character in this game

Well I can think of two explanations for this

1) Captain Falcon sucks
2) You are right

It could potentially be that Falco is particularly strong at your level of play as well. I don't know where you're at and I don't want to make assumptions, but speaking from experience, the mid-level of play before your opponent is able to avoid getting locked down by lasers, Falco is a God. This is also the stage of the game where Marth mains at that same level begin to suffer, as their opponents begin respecting their range, baiting out their swings, and being able to combo them efficiently. So it's possible you're going through the same stage many other Marth players have gone through (and the point at which many players abandon Marth), or perhaps I'm full of ****, and Falco is, in fact, a gift sent to you directly from the Smash Gods.

Edit:I played melee for 4years then picked up brawl played that for 2years then picked up PM and played that upto the end of the build and now am currently playing Smash4 and Melee(I recently got back into Melee)

If you're actually that experienced, I guess I don't know why you're looking to internet randoms to tell you who to main. Some character's play-styles could be more appealing to a person than others, but if you're playing Marth at any sort of high level, I wouldn't think your Falco should be able to rival it without any practice. But if Falco feels more natural to you, by all means make the switch. Maining a character isn't a life sentence, haha.
