Maybe I should've made this post before I started actively participating on the boards.

Ahem. Hello there, everyone. I am Writer's Blah, as you may have guessed. A pleasure to meet all of you. I'm a Smasher from the south Miami area, a surprisingly unpopular place for Smash. Seriously, I gotta drive, like, twenty minutes just to get to a gaming hotspot. So, I've been playing Smash since 2004 with Melee, but I wasn't even aware of the competitive community until 2010. Better late than never, I suppose. Though I started out with competitive Brawl, I've become a bit bored with the game, and now play Melee and Project M. In Melee, I main Sheik and Doc, use Puff and Yoshi as secondaries, and am beginning to learn Marth. In PM, I main Mario and Sheik, use Puff and ROB as secondaries, and dabble a bit with Olimar from time to time. I have taken a really stupid personal vow to never use the character who's number one on the tier list as I want to be seen as a good player for my skill, and not just because I use the best.

I also suck as a competitive player. Like, REALLY suck. Some may question why even do this at all. There's tons of other fighting games out there. To be honest, I just really love Smash, and I really love competitive play. I became so used to being the best Smash player as a kid that now I completely welcome losing. So it's my dream to one day rival the likes of Ken, Mango, Hungrybox, Mew2King, and the like. May never happen, but I don't plan on retiring any time soon. I'm just really driven for some weird reason.

And as Smash 4 is coming out soon, I plan on fully committing to discovering techniques and developing the metagame alongside everyone else here. This game is going to be my chance to finally shine, so here's to another seven years of Smash!

Woo! I can respect the vow you made. The reasons behind my character selections are based off of personal connections from the video games I've played outside of Smash. I always main a Fire Emblem character, and as explained in my sig, there are certain franchises that I love in particular and go out of my way to rep at least one character.

Wish you the best for your future Smash 4 endeavors!

I don't pick my mains just because I like the character. I used to do that before I got into the tournament scene, but my method of choosing mains now revolves around playing every single character in-game and taking note of those that compliment my playstyle. That's how Sheik became my Melee main. And after learning about tiers, that'd explain my picking up Puff in Melee and Olimar in Brawl. (Before then, it used to be Kirby in Melee and Sonic in Brawl.) but then again, I don't enjoy the very heavy rush down styles the space animals and Meta Knight bring to the table.

That said, I have no clue as to who I'm maining in Smash 4. In the demo I played, I still enjoy Mario and Sheik, and of the newcomers, Wii Fit Trainer was a ton of fun. But I'm waiting until I finally own the game to decide who my companions will be!

For me, I always have a character I like that fits within my style so I'm happy about that. But yeah, gotta see how they feel in Smash 4 before I jump to any conclusions.
