So, for those of you who haven't noticed or heard yet, since the Mewtwo patch, there's been something interesting going on in Classic mode for Smash 3DS.

Basically, in Smash's classic mode (You can skip this bit if you already know all about how classic mode works, I won't bore you.), characters are faught on what are known as home stages. Generally, if not always, these are stages that are from the same franchise as said characters - Mario on Mushroom Kingdom, Game & Watch on Flat Zone, for instance - but since the patch, one of Kirby's home stages has been Battlefield, which is usually reserved for the Mii Fighting team.

Now, this is interesting because of the recent "Roy/Ryu leak" in which, included with the leaked sound files were a couple of new Kirby BGM tracks (Two, to be precise. IIRC.) that hinted towards a possible new stage. This might sound slightly unrelated at first glance, but considering that Battlefield has been rearing it's head as a Kirby home stage, there's a good chance that this is acting as a placeholder.

With no other series picking up Battlefield as a home stage since the patch, and Battlefield being the first available/"default" stage of the game, it's not too farfetched to believe that Battlefield is just acting as a placeholder until the new Kirby stage arrives. Not only that, but when looking at the game's files, Mario, the first character on the roster - in place "0" - also acts as the placeholder for missing or otherwise unselectable characters. The same is probably true for Battlefield and unselectable stages.
For me, this definately confirms the viability of not only a new Kirby stage, but Ryu and Roy also coming to Smash 4 (Since they were all in the same file leak.).

I haven't seen this particular aspect relating to the file-leak and the viability of more content really discussed anywhere, and I don't know if this is also the case on the Wii U version, so I thought I'd bring it up here.

DISCUSS!!
[Edit]: Please redirect me if there is a discussion for this. lol I just haven't seen one. I could have missed it.

Very interesting - I hadn't noticed this since the patch! This whole thing is very strange, I don't really understand why they're like preparing for DLC (Roy, Ryu, and the Kirby stage) so early... I mean, it's not like it's needed? I guess it makes it easier, but it's still strange!

I haven't seen this yet as I only played through Classic Mode with Mewtwo once, but it's certainly intriguing. I'll see if it will pop up for me tomorrow on the bus.

Do you know if it shows up in All-Star too, by any chance?

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense that they've put so much in there pre-emptively (For a patch, no less.). That being said, it's plausible that this is in an attempt to speed up the release, so you can't blame them too much for leaving this sorta stuff in.

You know, I have no idea... Good point, I might have to look into that, too...

But yeah, just battle Kirby, D3 or Meta Knight in classic, and it pops up sometimes. Mostly pops up in team battles for me though, so you might have a bit more luck with all 3 present, I dunno.

Got a video just in case it's needed. Add it to the OP if you wish:

Is it true that the stage might be Dreamland 64? Even if I don't like Roy and Ryu that much I want Dreamland 64....

So /r/smashbros says this was fixed in Ver 1.0.7.

However, that video I took was in 1.0.7.

Ah Shoot Fountain of Dreams is coming back. Though I rather have it on the Wii U.

Oh yeah, I tried out All-Star today.

I did two attempts on Hard on 3DS, and....well, is it just me, or did they now fix the All-Star stages to be based on difficulty? I got the same ones every time (I got WarioWare when I got to Kirby n' frands).

The song found was the remix from Smash 64, not the one from Fountain. Now that you mention it, I want Fountain of Dreams back.

Played classic when I bought M2 and got a VS DDD in Battlefield on my first try.
EXCUSE the Double Post. I didn't paid attention.
