Basic Attack Button not working?

So lately my switch has been wonky, and I assumed it was my fualty controllers. But when alI loojed online, others said they had this issue as well.

Has anyone on here experienced an issue where a random button stops working? For me its Nuetral Attacks. This button serves a purpose way bigger than basic attacks... It picks up items, pokeballs, assist trophies, and it can serve other purposes.

I just want to know why it stops working in battles, and not anywhere else... The A button is perfectly fine in all my other games, including Fortnite, My Hero One's Justice, and Pokemon Lets go Eevee. What is this?

Idk if this is what you mean but If you mash the right thumbstick fast enough it stops registering inputs and you just stand there for some stupid reason that they've programmed it into the game.

Honestly, no I haf no idea that that issue could happen... I hope they fix our issues soon
