Banned Controllers?

and was wondering if it's banned in tournaments?

should I just buy official gamecube controllers

It looks like it has a turbo or macro button, which is banned. Sometimes that's up to the discretion of the TO, but in general, just get a Nintendo Controller. They're the best.

I can't exactly tell if its a turbo controller, but if i isn't, and it functions like a regular controller then you should be good.

Considering it's Madcats and seeing the extra button on the Left shoulder, I assume it has a Turbo button, which is technically banned from tournaments. However, if you're just going to smaller local tournaments, you might be able to talk to the TO's about your controller and they'll probably be cool with you using it.

Probably to avoid butthurt, just get a first party controller. I dunno if you wanna break the bank, but you can get a really nice one for around 30-40$.

I just got my new one for $20 in almost unused conditions, so a real GCC shouldn't really break the bank at all, unless you want one of those limited edition ones that go for $80 and up.

I would say just go out and buy a standard GC controller, they aren't that expensive if you look in the right places.

I used to have a wireless version of that controller. That extra button is actually just an "extra" Z button, it has the same function as the one located to the right, so it should be fine with the T.O.

While on the subject of banned controllers, I'm wondering if this bad boy would be allowed as well:
