Bad guys vs. Evil guys

I've noticed that the playable characters who are considered "Bad Guys" are pretty subtle. I think you can agree that Bowser, Wario, and Dedede aren't truly evil. They're just bad. They've been known to do nice things once in a while.

Now, as far as evil goes, you have your Ganondorf, Ridley, etc, who are pretty undebatably evil. Maybe this has to do with the games they come from, but I think that the evil ones would be better for bosses.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to play as Ridley and Ganondorf with an updated moveset. Just something I've noticed.

The ''bad'' guys can still be evil too. See Bowser in Super Mario Galaxy, and indeed Wario in the SSE video. They can make good bosses just as well as the others. Heck, even Kirby could be a good for a boss kind-of battle, but in a more friendly kind-of way, like with the Mario vs. Kirby thing in that SSE gameplay video.

I agree with your idea about bad vs. evil. I think that it would be really interesting to see a character like Ridley undergo some sort of change of heart in Brawl. Maybe Pokemon Trainer will finally be the one to show Ridley the error of his ways.

Looking at their own games, yeah, some of the characters aren't actually evil. But I think as far as smash is concerned, we're only going to see the bad side of characters like bowser and wario and not much of the good side.

Dedede... well, I have no idea. It'd be pretty hard to have someone who looks like that doing evil stuff. Metaknight is a little more likely to take on a bad guy role in smash methinks.

Bowser's just bad. Wario's just greedy. Don't know much about what Dedede does actually, only faced off against him as a boss every once and a while.

Ridley killed one of Samus's parent's, consistently causes destruction around the Galaxy, leads the space pirates and pretty much lives to cause destruction to other planets it seems. Plus, he has more lives that a cat. A genetically enhance super cat with android upgrades even.
