theres probably an obvious reason for this, but why is there no backroom for smash 4? weve been without an official ruleset or tier list for about 6 months at this point...

Making a tier list right now would only work if custom moves weren't included. Maybe in the future, there should be separate tier lists for with custom moves and without.

Why? Custom moves are just moves. Why would a ZSS with Blaster instead of Paralyzer make it impossible to develop a standard ruleset?

Is it really that important that we need a backroom to discuss tier lists and rulesets? Each region differs with the 2/3 stock count, and some have only yet to dip their toes into involving custom movesets. This game cannot be seemingly compared to the time of establishment of BBR because of these variables and increased character count. If you've been playing the game this long, you'd already have a sense of who the top-high tier characters (without customs) are, but that could change once customs tournaments start to become more prevalent.

The tier list would just be a novelty. I care more about the unified ruleset because it's really a mess between customs/not. Also stage choices should be decided. Everyone seems to have settled into 2 stocks for singles though so that's not really an issue.
