I've found usage for the zap jump, psi wave thingy etc, but one of the things I can never quite seem to get mileage out of is the B-stick, especially with Pk fire.

It just seems very uncessary and working with just forward b in the air works just as well.

Other than spacing , is there any real use for the b-stick?

It makes the magnet pull recovery easier, it makes doing a wavebounce zap jump (to get momentum, but never really necessary unless you're doing the reverse hyrule jump, lol) feasible, and the reason that you'd want to be able to bstick is for fighting fast characters that can roll behind a pk fire and then dash up and grab you before you are out of lag, which is harder to do if you're farther away.

lol whut? are you serious?
dont use the NORMAL waveland use the super one

1. b sticking on
2. face right, hold right on the control stick
3. short hop
4. pk fire
5. hold left on the c stick and he'll pk fire forward while going completely backward

vice versa is true about facing left

I do use it. Some people don't.

As much as I believe it gives you more of an advantage than csticking, and as much as I've argued for bsticking over non-bsticking, it's possible to be successful with either.

I don't use it but that's because I tend to play more campy with that style and generally do worse. But that's just my issue. I'd reccomend it to anyone. I just can't play that style (and yea I tried it for weeks, ha).

I don't use it because from what I've seen/experienced, wavebouncing is only useful if you're playing defensively/retreating, and I'm a very offensive player in general, so even with specials set to the C stick, I almost never use it except to remind myself that it's there and hey, I can do this if I felt like it. But I never do. >_<

I want to experiment with setting the C stick to attack for impossible-to-botch tilts.

@ParanoidDrone: Setting attack to your c-stick disables smash DI with the c-stick so it's probably not the best idea. You're really much better off just learning how to tilt correctly. It just takes a little practice.

B-sticking is handy for spacing but definetly not essential for a Lucas player. It depends a lot on your playstyle. I've done both for a good bit of time and still prefer regular C-stick. Plus I absolutely hate the idea that everytime I do a forward smash there's a chance I'll trip. Ugh Brawl. Anyhow so far it's kind of up to the individual. Do what you're most comfortable with because that's what you'll be most succesful with.

I think it's essential. He flies so far back that many characters cannot get him in the ery little lag of PKF.

If you arent flying extremely far back, you are doing it wrong. THe distance covered is huge and useful.

It seems defense = use bstick and offensive players = dont use it.

I tend to be more of a rush character with Lucas, and like Galeon said , it doesnt really fit my style of play and I was forcing it usually, throwing my rhythm out of wack.

I just wanted to see how necessary it was, but it seems like a persons choice type of thing.
