B-Reversing for DI/Offstage?

Hey guys!
So I was just thinking, B-reversing and wavebouncing could be really useful for DI when hit horizontally off stage. I mean, proper DI generally would have you doing your lowest-lag move as soon as you can. What if, instead of using a low-lag move, you B-reverse Mario's fireballs or something? You'd instantly gain momentum towards the stage on top of whatever DI you already inputted, and most characters would be able to return to the stage faster.

I can see this being especially useful for a character like Bowser, with bad vertical recovery. If hit offstage at a low angle, he could B-reverse an up-B (difficult but possible) to come back quickly and regain some momentum.
It could also be quite useful for Link and Tink, who could B-reverse a bomb pull which they could use to AGT when recovering and not waste some of their recovery movement doing so.

The only problem is, I don't know how practical this would be. It would be most useful when flying away from stage very quickly, but hitstun might make it too laggy to use a special move before getting KO'd.

Any thoughts?

iirc this was answered before, but i can't find the source. when ganon first got float, people asked the same thing, could he just breverse float out of hitstun before he hit the blastzone and pull that smash4 wario shenanigans. apparently the knockback momentum is stored separately from character momentum, so it doesn't work the way we would want it to : /
