Ottawa Arcade Presents.. MIDWAY SMASH #3!!
Featuring Project M, Smash 64, Super Smash Bros Melee, Smash 3DS Smash Brawl (seriously!) and Smash Bros Wii U (Smash 4)!!
With side tournaments of MARIO KART 8, SUPER BOMBERMAN!!
Midway Smash #2 was bigger and better! We worked out a lot of the kinks but strive to give everyone in Ottawa the BEST Smash Bros tournament in the city!
I really think we are getting there. More CRTs and flatscreens were available at the second event and once the screens were setup things were overall smooth! We weren't expecting Smashers to be SO HYPED for our event that they would arrive even EARLIER than 9:15pm pre-registrations and arrive at 8:30 AM to sign up!!! Wowzers guys..you are AMAZING!!
Bring your controllers, bring your Amiibos... We now have a Super Bomberman tournament running off of 4X Wii's so you will need Gamecube controllers for those setups! You will also need a controller for Mario Kart 8!
The Midway Family Fun Park will be featuring tournaments for Smash Bros 4.and Project M. Side tournaments for Smash Bros Melee and Smash 64 will be run if there is enough support from the community -- BRING YOUR SETUPS PLEASE!!

PRE-REGISTRATION:
We will be conducting pre-registration online prior to the event and before any of the events the day-of the tournaments. All regular Registrations will be done onsite for this event after 1030AM!

VENUE FEE:
- There is a venue fee of $10. Midway Family Fun Park has a "pay per play" for their non-Smash packages. Please consider using their arcade machines and other gaming events while you are there! They have been truly gracious to have us on their premises.
- Renting space is expensive and Midway is offering an amazing deal for playing casually for 8 hours.
- Tournament play is separate because we wish to offer the largest pot money for the top 3 winners as possible!
- You can contact Midway about their rates.

SETUPS
Setups would be appreciated. This includes a monitor or flatscreen for Smash 4 and medium-sized CRTs for Smash Bros Melee and Smash 64. We mostly need CRTs but would not turn away any offers to borrow monitors for the duration of the event!

Currently tentative but will be similar to Midway Smash #2 plus the two side tournaments of Super Bomberman and Mario Kart 8. Please refer to the Facebook event for the latest schedule for the time being. (072715)

FOOD:
Venue has a canteen inside. There are many food establishments located nearby. Here is a convenient list of them:

In event #1, a medium sized drink and slice of pepperoni OR cheese pizza was available for $5. Many other foods are available as are whole small, medium or large pizzas.

Parking is available outside the Midway Family Fun Park.

OFFICIAL TOURNAMENTS:
Pricing has changed a little to accomendate a better pot.
- $10 for for venue. This gives you 8 hours of gaming time with us (@justpushplaycan) and the Midway. If you wish to participate competitively in the tournaments, it will be an additional $5 per game that you wish to register for.
So, for example, if you register for Smash Melee and Smash 4, it would be $5 for Smash Melee Singles and $5 for Smash 4 Singles. This allows us to give you a larger pot than what we could do with event #1.

We are currently deciding between APEX rules and determining our own. Please contact us.
The rules from Midway Smash #1 and #2 were a little wonky and people brought their own "sub-rules". We wish to eliminate this problem from Midway Smash #3!

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION:
All tournaments will have the following pot split per tournament bracket. (ie. Smash 4 Singles, Project M Singles, etc.)
Singles
1st Place – 50%
2nd Place – 20%
3rd Place – 10%
We discussed giving out EB Games cards after Midway Smash #1 but it wasn't possible due to logistics. We may pursue this idea closer to the tournament date!
We have been giving out Amiibos in Midway Smash #1 and #2 to the winners of the tournaments. That may change for next month.

BRING YOUR OWN STICKS/CONTROLLERS:
Please have your own 3DS or controller ready to play. We will only be providing controllers for the casual setups if people can put down a $10 deposit. They can borrow the controller for the day and get $5 back at the end. This will all be logged accordingly so we know who is renting, etc.

BROKEN STICKS/BUTTONS:
If you have any stick/button problems at anytime then STOP PLAYING and get up and inform the nearby supervisor(s). The stick will be fixed or changed and the match will be replayed at the supervisor(s)' discretion.
