You guys were worried about them not focusing on brawl much, please..don't worry about that. Pound 4 was originally a BRAWL tournament with a 1 day melee side tournament. He made it 50/50 because of the huge melee attendance. He's going to focus on both games just as much, and people just haven't registered yet because everyone procrastinates. The hype has to start somewhere. The more of you that register the more others will and the numbers will skyrocket. Pound 3 got like 200 people in the last month.

From plank in the pound 4 thread:
Hey guys, how about you shut the **** up?
Seriously, I come home from a day of work and I have to deal with this bull****? GOD some of you guys make me really not want to ever run tournaments again. I have a lot I have to say so how about you people shut up and listen for ****ing once.
I did NOT gear the tournament towards one side of the community, and I am EXTREMELY offended that you say this. The tournament was orginally a BRAWL tournament with melee as a ONE DAY side event, but the demand for Melee made me to switch it to BOTH GAMES evenly.
As far as the prices go there is NOTHING I can do. Would you rather it be like Genesis and have 30 TV's total for both games? Things aren't free. My venue is huge, and destroys Apex's venue.
You're my friend and all, but I really don't appreciate your tone or constant plugs of your tournaments in my thread. I don't think you're a better TO than me and I think a lot of people agree, so just please stop acting like your tournaments are so much better run than anybody else's. You do a good job I admit, especially with the obstacles you face (your venues tend to be ****ty), but don't do so at the cost of my tournament.
What happened at Genesis was a lack of being prepared for the turnout and not having the supplies for both games.
As far as the melee players go, YES they need to stop being idiots and just leave the Brawl players alone, but I do agree that the Brawl players should stop taking it so seriously. The only person who matters (ME) is willing to put as much effort into Brawl as Melee, so that should be enough.
So should I just lie and put names in the title of people who aren't even confirmed? That might be your guys style, but no offense, when I agree to go to a tournament because of the names in the title and only 2 of them show, i'm pretty disappointed. If nobody has registered for Brawl how do you expect me to make the title even?
Go because I'm providing a giant venue and at least 100 tvs for everyone to play on? Go because I am a proven TO with a team of people to help and have been planning this for 6 months?
No offense but creating false hype does not=creating hype.
I will be the first to say under no situation would I ever cancel Brawl. I realize it is not my game of choice, but as far as running a tournament I am a professional. This is what I choose to do with my life, I'm not going to ostracize people just because they play a different game than me.
If people can't register online, though, that's really not my problem. I always do my best to help people out, but countless tournaments have had issues due to starting late. Online registration prevents that.
It stopped the thread from being derailed for this long, which is good at least.
THE BOTTOM LINE
I have spent 6 months of my life planning a tournament that will be great for both games. I have put equal effort into both, and I plan to give both tournaments the same exact amount of attention and supplies.
I bought a venue BIGGER than enough for both games. I bought enough TVs for both games, and I have a staff to run both games. People saying I am only focusing on Melee are EXTREMELY rude and I am VERY offended by these statements. I have said SO MANY TIMES that I will cater to both games equally.
From a TO standpoint I DO NOT CARE WHAT GAME YOU PLAY. I want everyone to have some ****ing fun, is it that hard to ask?
At Genesis yes people might boo when Brawl comes on, but is that really what the Melee players were mad about? If there were some more TVS so they had something to do I doubt that it would've been that much of an issue.
I am very upset that constant bashing from Melee players has hurt the reputation of my tournament. It is really ridiculous and I hope you all realize that when I buy a venue for 2 games and I prepare for 2 games and only one's game worth of people show up, when the prizes aren't up to par because I had to take out of pocket to pay for the things I prepared for both games, it's your all fault and not mine, that's all I have to say. Melee players are just hurting themselves.
That being said I would still like to point out nobody registered for *Pound* 3 until about a month before. I got over 200 entrants in the last month.
If you all want to act and bicker like children I will treat you like children. The way everybody is acting is disrespecting me and disrespecting all the work I have put into this. I think I will be the most pissed off person out of EVERYONE if nobody comes for Brawl because I prepared for both games and I sure did waste a lot of time if I only needed room for one game.
I am really disappointed in this community as a whole, Brawl and Melee. So seriously, **** you all and you guys are really discouraging me from even caring about who comes. Whoever comes is going to have the time of their lives for either game and those who don't will regret it later when they hear about how amazing it was, so whatever.
