Attn Snake Mains: Please Help Me In My Research Project

Hello everyone! I am currently doing a research project on Brawl for members of the smash lab. They have a couple ideas going around in there and I wanted to test a few of them out for myself. Therefore if you guys would not mind, I would appreciate it if you would help me out.

I would like you, since you know your characters better than I do (probably), to tell me in quick bullet points what the most annoying things for you to play against. I am talking about aspects of match ups that change how the match up plays out. Examples of this would be King Dedede’s standing infinite on Bowser, DK, Mario, Luigi, Samus and himself or grab releases like Marth on Ness/Lucas or Wario’s grab release shenanigans. Basically, anything match up specific where one character has a great advantage over the other character simply because of that move/moves. There’s plenty out there but I want to make sure I have them all! Please list them for me!

snakes worst fear is not being on his feet, whether it be up in the air or off the edge, both are terrible situations for him that are easy for many characters to reset over and over again racking up a ton of damage in the process before snake gets on solid ground again

second worst thing I guess would be chain grabs, if you look at all the characters that are supposed to be either advantaged or neutral with snake, almost all of them can chain grab him. DDD and falco both have chain grabs that also end at the edge, leading right back into snakes air and edge problems as well(and in the case of falco snake always has to blow himself up at least once for another 17%), but falco's is much easier to circumvent because it is limited by percent and his shield grab isn't as disgustingly good as DDD's. pikachu also has a good chain grab on him but it is probably the easiest of the three to avoid IMO

Being in the air, and characters that can easily juggle or gimp us:

Falco
Marth
Meta Knight
Jigglypuff (if she gets you in the air, you're in for one hell of a fight.. you **** her on ground though)
Game and Watch (more of an annoying matchup, he dies early, but again. ***** us in air)


Chaingrabs-
DeDeDe (mostly)
Falco (somewhat, it can be a 0>death if you're not to careful or don't rack yourself up to 40%)


That's really it.

Jugglers, chaingrabs, and outcampers.

once I get my wii fixed/get a new one I need to try and learn it, but I think I read that you can actually tech the spike, at least falco can do it, dunno if it works for all characters that are victimized by the CG spike

edit: also for some reason diddy is much harder than ROB or falco for me, his naners **** my snake up worse than any other character I play I think...

Diddy is hard for everyone because of bananas.


You can tech the spike, but its a little difficult. You can also rack up 40% carefully between you and the Falco, but thats risky.

Then you can avoid it entirely by dropping c4 > Shield drop 2 grenades > Blow up C4 > DI down > Tech the Stage > You now have 41% if the moves were fresh.
