What about clones? All I've heard from people is that there better be no clones in Brawl. Well why not? Yes they have the same movesets as the characters they're cloned from, but I think they change them enough to be considered differently.

Oh yeah, let's see who can get the greatest Star Wars pun off the word Clone, Clones, and Cloned while your all posting *Cough*biting my head off*Cough*.

Why add a clone when they can make a unique character...clones weren't added for the hell of adding clones...

...Personally I'd rather have the character not in than be a clone.

I play as C. Falcon and Ganondorf, and I got to say, I like Ganondorf more.

I don't even think this game will even feature clones.
OK.... Thank you for the first post!

It's so they can add "new" characters without wasting time. Personally, I'd give up three clones, if it meant having one unique character.
?

I think that may be why Luigi and C Falcon are being delayed. New moveset coming maybe?
What do the have to do with clones other then the fact that Luigi is an altered one and Falcon has one.

The only reason they had clones in the last game was due to time restrictions... notice how when Ganondorf holds a sword at the end of a fight or his silhouette when you first attempt to unlock him. He was SUPPOSED to have that, but due to time constraints, they just made him a clone of Falcon.

Luigi's move were somewaht similar to his bro's and I know C. Falcon was not a clone, but they both could be delayed in updates b/c of a new moveset

Luigi's moves are somewhat similar (key word there, similar, not identical as a clone's are) to Mario's on purpose - they're brothers with similar abilities even within their own games. They'll probably be differentiated further in Brawl (if only due to the FLUDD/Poltergust options), but don't expect them to bear no resemblance to each other. But setting that aside, why would Captain Falcon get a new move set? Hes had that one in both of the previous games, and it certainly suits him. Ganondorf on the other hand it makes no sense on, since in his games he always fights with either magic or a sword (or two). Plus, as others have noted, he was intended to use a sword in Melee, as seen by the one he holds after some vs matches.

Anyway, yeah, theres no reason for clones to return this time around. Melee had them due to the time frame being forced on Sakurai & co - they had to get it out for the 'Cube's release, and didn't have time to give unique moves to all the characters. This time they got to set their own time frame, so theres no reason for them not to have individualized moves for each of the characters they select.
