Atheism sux

Atheism is pretty much not believing a god. Moreso, one can go as far into saying that there is probably no afterlife. I'm pretty much just going with the basics I don't want a fight of semantics on what atheism actually is -.-.

Now here's is why it sucks. You will never be able to prove yourself right. Once you die, the chance you have is dependent on there being an observer... however if atheism is right anyway there is no observer at this point... so ultimately you never get any sort answer or gratification I mean you're dead-- what now?

Now with religion you have a chance! Even if your religion makes no sense, if there is an afterlife to it it's better than atheism! In the end, you can be conscience of your previous beliefs and know whether or not you were right in the end. The chances are small, but hey might as well not pick something guarenteed to never satisfy.

So hurry up now and pick up a religion and give yourself a chance!

Even if it's eternal torment? One thing I've heard, and I do agree with, with all the different religions out there, the chance of picking the right one is pretty slim. What if the ancient Egyptians had the right one?

Anyway, as interesting as this would be to discus, religion threads aren't allowed in the pool room. If you want, try the debate hall.

No, atheism IS the lack of belief in a god. Not "pretty much."

Again, if there is no god, which atheists do not believe in, there is no after life. As for a semantics, you are trying to star this off as a "well, it's kind of like this," to give your argument FOR theology more "oomph" since you will deal in absolutes.

Theism can't be proven either. Once you die, you aren't the same person. Even biblical scholars agree that you won't be the same entity with the same memories. There is a gratification in living for yourself and having the most out of life.
