So today I decided to hop on PM and practice my L cancellin ( I use the r instead) and wave dashing. Before I would wave dash and l cancel with the tip of my index finger and today I started using the middle of my index finger.I been playing for probably 5 hours and my knuckles and arm hurt.I never had this happen before.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Sometimes I like to use an overhand claw-hand grip on the controller, to use my fingers on the face buttons like a fight stick, and it makes my wrist cramp up something awful to the point where I have to stop after a match or so. The Gamecube controller is pretty ergonomic, but if you hold it in a way it wasn't made for it's phenomenally uncomfortable. Only thing I can tell you is to take breaks and give your hand some rest every hour or whenever you start feeling discomfort, no sense doing permanent damage to your body over a game.

Maybe you should stop using your right hand and arm to touchyoursel-

I had the same problem when I started Piano. When your finger muscles aren't used to much exercise, then tend to get sore when you repeat an action with them for a while. Stretch them out before you play by flexing them a bit, and maybe do a couple other finger-related exercises in your spare time (if you have it, like Piano an instrument or maybe just typing games on a PC (or Mac).

Believe it or not, taking a break helps. Even I have trouble surf wavedashing perfectly after about an two hours of nonstop playing.

If I took a week-long break, and hopped on one day to practice whatever tech skill for a long period of time, my arms and fingers would hurt because I'm trying to force myself to do something I haven't been doing.

Muscle memory is also important. Practice whatever for like an hour or two and call it a day.

TL;DR: Take a break, unless you want to end up like Hax.

oh man. Yeah, I recommend just pressing that pause button. Stop and think.
If your anything like me, you'll stare into space for a while, then notice your sweating(along with your hand),
but the point is, to relax those muscles.

Are you by any chance Matthew McConaughey? For some reason I just picture him saying this.

Well no. I do apologize though, I've grown to replicate my habits of speech through the media often--as many do
