Ariels when hit off ledge

so my girlfriend has been into melee for a bit now with me. But she seems to be having an issue I've never dealt with.
I'd say roughly 30% of the time I hit her off ledge, she starts a dair instantly. Being shiek this kills her most times.
I've told her to try not to hold down after/right before I hit her and she said her hands literally weren't on the anoalog sticks. I've tested her controller myself and haven't had this issue.
Any ideas why this is happening and hot to fix? Thanks!

I'd guess she was trying to input dtilt/dsmash before being hit and has slow fingers. It can take a while to get used to the speed of melee.

That's what I was thinking, but she insists otherwise...I think it is just lack of speed tho as well

This might be a little farfetched, but she might be trying to sdi the hit to try and tech it. Do you know if she's using the c stick or is she using to input the aerial? Also, is she pushing straight down on the stick or is she doing or ?
