Are you going to unlock all the characters on both versions?

Pretty sure you can unlock characters between the versions by connecting the games, but that isnt fun, so, are you going to spend 20 hours on both games trying to unlock mewtwo?

Whether I unlock them again or not will depend on how different the unlock conditions are across versions. If the conditions are the same and there's a transfer option, then I'm definitely transferring the unlocks. If there are different ways to unlock the characters, and I don't have some sort of Smash party planned with my friends where we need the roster, then I might just unlock them the classic slow way.

I think I'll buy the game and only play as the starting roster. I think that if I play enough of the game to unlock a new character I'll just format my system memory.

Depends on if I actually have to... Like we know we can import fighter data but can we import any unlocks that the games share? Characters and Shared stages for example.

If I can import them, then no, I won't re-unlock them, I'll import em all and get down to business.

Ugh, I would hate it if it was all unlocked instantly. I'll keep my 3DS carefully away from my Wii U, thank you... Unlocking the characters is one of the best parts. I've deleted my files in the past just to unlock them again because it's fun.

I suppose it depends on what else you have to re-unlock. For instance, I want my Mii hats at the start; however, I would not be opposed to earning all of the characters again. I reset all of my Smash files multiple times to do just that. Unlocking characters is great fun.
