Are you allowed to use a 3ds at a Local?

Hey guys I'm new to the smashboard and I was wondering if you can use a 3ds as a controller? I dont want to show up and just not be able to use my controller. It will be my first time going to a tournament so please help me out. I just want to know if its ok.

I also dont feel comfy using a gc controller but i need to get used to one but my 3ds makes me fell godlike

The rules differ. Some allow them, while others don't. It's best to get into contact with the tournament's organizers and staff and see what their decision is.

Thanks but how do i contact them do i just call the place or how do i get in contact with those guys. Tell me how to get there

What is the local you want to go to? If there's a SmashBoards thread for it or a Facebook page, make a post on there asking about controllers.
