If Sakurai is going reveal items, he should show off old items for now like the Proximity Mine or the Beam Sword (which I thought looked sick when I saw it in the Brawl DOJO), though i'm eager to see what the Beam Sword will look like.

Yes, I have a feeling that we will start to see quite a few different reveals. Maybe an assist trophy here or there? I mostly agree with Dakota. We are still going to get pictures of random characters doing nothing. However, October 31st really marked the day that we would start seeing some different things on occasion (if we are not counting stages).

Ooh, the first assist reveal is gonna be confusing if it's a regular character. How many people will shout "___ CONFIRMED" before noticing Sakurai's comment and the lack of character page?

There will probably be a few, most likely trolls. Some people (like me) said that Xerneas was going to be a playable character.
Imagine the look on everyone's face if Little Mac is revealed... as an assist trophy. OMG.

Anyways, no shave November Marth was a crazy reveal. It made me buy FE Awakening. Haha.

I think the X-Bomb from Kid Icarus was the first item reveal, no? We've had a couple before today; I'm sure we'll see more in the future.
I suspect, seeing as we're probably about a year from release now, that we're going to start seeing a lot more pictures of unconfirmed game elements like items, stages, modes, etc.

oh yeah i totally forgot about the X-bomb! i'm worried it might be a bit overpowered though... hopefully it's rare. but that's beside the point! maybe sakurai gave us a glimpse of that just show off to us, like "hey look what kinda stuff's in the next smash bros!" but maybe i'm wrong and we'll have another giant item drought
