Smash Wii U Are we able to use two Gamecube Adapters for Smash Bros Wii U 8-Player Smash?

The title says it all. I'm not sure if it has been confirmed or not yet but I can't find anywhere where this has been mentioned.
All my friends and I play with Gamecube controllers so it'd be unfortunate if we couldn't all use it. I guess the Wii-U Pro Controller would work equally as well but none of us own one.

If you have two gamecube adapters, then yes, you can play with 8 gamecube controllers.
