Are there any other games as competitive as Melee?

Street Fighter has a pretty strong following, I've heard that Tekken has a decent competitive scene too. If you're willing to look beyond fighting games there's also Starcraft to consider.

Definitely a lot of fighters out there with really strong competitive scenes. As long as you keep an open mind and not compare other fighters too much to Melee, there's quite a bit of games that have stuff to offer. Checking out the games that have been on Evo is a good start, same with watching the finals for anything that catches your eye.
