are people really just angry over the char balance in brawl?

i know it may be too early to say, but i for one can't help but notice the character balance in brawl compared to melee. lots of you here may disagree (that's your prerogative), but all this got me thinking: all these pro-melee, anti-brawl folk, is it really just the fact that this game is a lot more balanced than melee that drives them to hate brawl? all the b*tching about the change in mechanics, tripping, and other arguments, are these all just excuses because they no longer pwn with falco/marth/*insert top tier melee char*?

i'm sure many people genuinely just don't like brawl, but i'm certain there are those that unconsciously or not hate the balance in the game. stop drinkin' the hate-orade.

Some people don't like it because high level play is different and Melee was more technical (so far) than Brawl.

I can understand why some players are unhappy that all their strats and tech skill don't transfer over (example: a fox player loses any strategies based around wding. waveshining, d-air-shine-wd-throw combo, etc).

I like both, but they are different games. Everyone's going to have their preference.

Alright, I suppose I should actually contribute to this thread...the fact that Brawl is ballanced is a certainly a good thing. In Brawl you can win as anyone, not just dominate with the Space Animals/Marth/Shiek etc.

That may be why some people are anti-Brawl, but I see it more a disappointment thing; Brawl wasn't what they expected so they dislike it because it's not what they wanted.

What? It feels to me like most of the old characters have been powered up rather than underpowered.

Pikachu: massively buffed
Luigi: buffed
Bowser: buffed
Mr. Game and Watch: massively buffed
Ice Climbers: buffed. More infinites than ever before and way more annoying.
Zelda: massively buffed
Young/Toon Link: buffed

I must've gotten a bugged copy of brawl then. MY characters weren't balanced. Neither were my friend's. I want to play this brawl that all yous guys have.

I like the character balance in Brawl, even if it's not perfect, SF-style. It mostly allows you to play the character you like to play. (Even if slow heavyweights still have a disadvantage against faster characters)

SF style? Lol. Street Fighter balance is basically the same as Melee balance.

Well... when Nintendo releases a patch that makes Brawl actually balanced, then you will have an almost valid point on your hands. Until then, you are just saying that because you like Brawl more or hate melee pros.

They hate the game because of the balance? Are you serious? You sound like someone regurgitating the "they hate us because of our freedom" routine.

Are you trying to insinuate that the people that dominated melee couldn't beat you with just about every character on the roster regardless of the character you played? That the only reason they enjoyed melee was because they could play top-tier characters to secure victories vs. people like you?


Personally. I like underdogs. Melee certainly had a choice of underdogs that could still compete at the highest level of play. I could win some local game-store tournament with ganondorf almost effortlessly, then not be able to touch people at a larger, more professional gathering. Playing Falco/Fox/Marth ect. myself wouldn't change that fact, so why would I complain?

But yeah. Basically. You're a douche.
