Are all the characters on the Display Roster?

I was thinking and looking at the characters on brawl. There seems to be a lot of them , and I'm not to sure if they will be all available at the start of the game. I'm wondering if they're just showing all the characters available on Brawl or all the characters that will be playable at the start. Characters like Sonic, Snake & IKE generate this question in my mind. Why would nintendo show such a shocking player like Sonic? And Snake? what Kind of suprices are we in store for? soo many questions and no answers...

If your asking if the characters now are the ONLY characters that will be in the game, I can assure you...NO, there are less characters than in Melee if that was the case.


If your asking if some characters on DOJO right now are secret...We don't know.


I assume Snake and Sonic are...I'm guessing Dedede is

My personal belief is that the current two third party characters ill be unlockable, and I am unsure about Dedede.

Both of the third party characters, which are the most likely unlockables confirmed, both had a reason to be revealed early.

Snake: Advertising. Basically, it said that there would be something new to Smash, third party characters. It was supposed to act as a huge hype machine, and succeeded.

Sonic: Delay. Sonic was announced on the exact same night the delay was first "announced" on the Dojo. My opinion is Sakurai knew a huge amount of people wanted to see Sonic, and announcing him would take a lot of pressure off of the delay announcement, since people would be glad to see Sonic in. It was sort of the "good news to counter the bad news."

If Dedede is an unlockable, the only thing I can think of is that there are no more newcomers that are not unlockable. Still some veterans more than likely, but not newcomers. Other than that I have no idea, but that is certainly not the final roster, and I doubt it is the final starting roster.
