has anyone ever played smash with an arcade stick? The only thing i can think of that would be a problem is tilts might be hard to do with the joystick. I was thinking about making one for the 64, shouldn't be too hard if the joysticks are potentiometer based.

I think the stick on an arcade stick is actually more like a d-pad than an analog stick.

It is basically a d-pad with a stick slapped on top of it. Other than that the buttons would be more efficient since you have more fingers available but that isn't really a big problem for ssb.

I beat a friend of mine using the ddr pad the other day. Wasn't it boom who originally came up with that? Or was it you? either way, DDRSSB is teh roxorz.
Being your IRL friend, don't I deserve to know about things like this? Unless YOU DON'T EVEN OWN A DDR PAD DO YOU.

Go awai from my smashboards, creepy protégé. I did it at my cousin's house, so there. It was hours of raucous fun, FOR YOUR INFORMATION.

My sincere apologies. Also, I'm not your protégé (though points for correctly accenting the word protégé).
