Approaching the Peach Matchup

Just yesterday at a tournament I had the chance to play against a couple of peach mains. In doing so I realized that I really don't understand the matchup. How do you approach the neutral game? What kind of precautions do you take to avoid float canceled aerials or the dreaded down smash? What moves do you recommend using for the combo/tech chase game? Any help would be much appreciated.

The Peach matchup is one you have to treat delicately. You can't just throw stuff out and hope to catch them off guard too often. Your spacing in this matchup needs to be pristine otherwise they can catch you with an instant neutral air or that oh so dreaded down smash. Neutral airs for the spacing game will be your best friend as you can hold them out of range pretty well with that, and if you catch them even with just the first hit of it you can sometime get in on them. If you can get a grab you can get a lot of mileage on them. If you are at a stage with platforms, you can possibly bring them to 0-death or at least high percents. If you want me to elaborate on what I specifically do for that let me know and I can maybe provide a video of my combo if one was recorded lol. Also, the biggest thing and that goes for that Jigglypuff matchup too, never go off stage. There are times when it can be beneficial, but when you go off stage for them while they recover, it only will ever put you in a bad position and they can punish that really well. I hope some of this can be of help at all!

This is most definitely a lot of help. I was aso having trouble capitalizing on grabs, so I would more than love to see your video. Thanks again for the help!

Peach matchup isn't hard.
Stay close to peach so she doesn't turnip, but not too close that she dsmashes/nairs
Keep doing pivot nairs (retreating)
If you're really cool then you might want to go for the raw instant uair or the raw knee
If you can grab (jc) and always dthrow
Once peach is in the air just keep on doing uairs until she cries. > finish with knee

Edge guarding isn't possible, so don't try to. Combos are your best friend in this matchup.
Don't go offstage.
Stay away from DL and PS
Don't falcon punch (99.999999% of the time)
Don't be stupid.

Aren't FoD and FD worse stages for CF in this MU?
FoD's platz interrupts his shuffls and he can get chaingrabbed on FD.

FD seems like it's preference. It does give Peach the CG but also makes Falcon's punish game insane, especially if they struggle to SDI nair properly. Also, it's huge which gives Falcon a lot of room to run around and make Peach's life rough in neutral. I know 2 of the 3 best peaches in FL and one bans it if they win a game v me and the other CPs to it.

Personally I just avoid FoD in this match up and am fine with every other map, but even FoD COULD be fine if you were really good at it, it just has the least forgiveness for any technical/mental lapses imo.

FD, BF and YS are still better than DL and PS and much better than FoD

Avoiding grabs in peach matchup is super easy with Falcon, just stay out of her terrible range and don't let her have a turnip.

I think it's because I play a very defensively aggro and punish heavy falcon (think of sheik) that I have this mindset about her grabbing and stuff.
