What are some good ways to approach with Falco. I love to dash attack, but I see most people just shield that, and apparently it's more on the laggy side. I know laser - jab is one but I always do side tilt. Anything else?

I'm not that experienced but I think the traditional approach of a short hop N-Air might be your best best. This can be interchangeable with a down air as well... Once you hit them you could shine them for some pillaring.

Hope this helps.

Thanks :D, I can do that lol, can anyone give a link to pillaring, I know it's a technical thing and I'd like to learn it.

It's hard to go wrong with short hop aerials, mostly dairs and nairs, then if they shield them all you have to do is L cancel the landing and immediately shine. Then if they are still in shield you can multishine/shine grab/pillar/etc.

Approach options with falco is really your choice for the picking something I sometimes do to switch things up is I short hop laser fast fall jab jab down tilt wavedash jump shine into a pillar.

Another thing is if you approach with a aerial attack make sure to fast fall l-cancel and make sure you have a follow up.

finally if you approach have a plan so they dont punish you or if they do you expect it then di to your liking.

If you think they're going to block, make sure to have your aerial come out as late as possible so that they're still in shield stun so you can shine their shield and continue with pressure. If you nair/dair too early, they can grab or wavedash oos. Once you've done the late aerial and the shine you just transition into what the shield pressure boards say.
If you think they're going to try to hit you out of your approach, you should do an aerial early so yours is out earlier than theirs but still usually as late as possible so you can win the trade.
If you think they're just going to get hit, yeah use a dair or shine or utilt because they launch into combos well (char specific).
Ultimately it all comes down to what you think your opp is going to do to respond to your approach. Sometimes it's good to jump forward, wl back and punish their counter or jump wl forward and grab their shield. Mixups are necessary, characters act very differently from each other, and everything can be countered.
