With the recent discovery of crouching to cancel the landing lag frames of Samus's morph ball form, I've been trying to incorporate the bomb more, for spacing, if anything.

One of my notable findings is the possibility of using down b -> crouch morph cancel -> instantaneous dtilt. My opponent rolled behind me (usually in this situation i would either screw attack, dash pivot grab or dash rar zair lol) but I bombed and DI'd behind him and upon landing caught him with a dtilt.

The fact that samus stays low to the ground, has no landing lag, has an explosion on either side of the opponent makes it seem to have potential to me, but I'd like to hear your input.

In summary:
Down B -> dtilt as spacing -> finisher
dash -> rar -> zair as retreat :]

Thanks for reading

I've found - even with the cancel - the bomb is still pretty limited in use. Nearly all my attempts at using it on the stage have resulted in either (1) having the opponent wait it out (not all that long), possibly tossing projectiles, or (2) having them just jump over the bomb and hit me before I can move or (3) take advantage of a disjointed hitbox to hit me through the bomb. The idea of them getting tripped up by the bomb is nice but in practice most people I've played don't really fall for it. There's just too much lag from the moment I initiate it until I can do anything else.

Occasionally I'll use it to be dodgy off the edge. The extra movement can help in situations where I can't hit them first or prioritize their attack and an airdodge is still punishable. Doesn't come up too often, though.

In an attempt to take advantage of the cancel I've been experimenting with using it to edgeguard - off the edge drop a bomb so you barely land (and cancel) but the bomb continues to fall, hopefully intercepting the opponent's recovery. Then grab the ledge during their stunned frames before they can up-b again. So far it doesn't look very promising.

I don't like using them on the stage. But if I ever do I always DI away from the opponent. With the CPU's it works (lol) but humans I don't get much practice on. I dropped a bomb once, DI'd away, opponent rolled under the bomb and I ftilt'd him into the bomb. I thought that was pretty cool, then I remembered it was a cpu.

In the air if I'm above the opponent since samus doesn't have a lot of protection from below I like to lay a bomb then DI back and forth (or wherever) then air dodge right through the bomb. Often times my opponent will get hit by the bomb while trying to hit me.
