My Gamestop is doing an event like they did last time.
Basically since we don't have an actual Smash community here they grabbed someone who's pretty good at Smash and chose them as their rep. Everyone gets four chances to play that someone: two chances to play them while they're using a random character, two chances while they're using a character of their choice. If you beat them while their playing random, you get a $5 giftcard, and you get a $10 giftcard for beating them when they're using their character. At the 3DS release, they only had Melee, but this time a buddy of mine is bringing a Wii for PM and Brawl, and the rep said they would play anyone in any of the Smash games. Save 64, we don't have a copy to bring and no one wants to play on emulator.
I don't think all Gamestops do this, because the rep is the one that convinced them to do it anyway.
