After playing Smash 3DS for so long, Smash U just doesn't work for me anymore. I mix up the L and ZR buttons all the time, forget to set my name and get screwed by Tap Jump, as well as just not being able to pull off anything I could do in 3DS. I know that using a controller with an R-stick is super useful, but I kinda just want to use my 3DS as a controller so that I can do whatever I've been doing.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I felt this way until I switched ZR and ZL to Shield instead of Grab, and assigned Grab to L and R. That feels a lot more natural IMO if you're using the Game Pad. Also, you can switch Tap Jump off as well, it's in the top-right corner of the custom controls. It's kind of out of the way, but it's there. I personally shut it off since there were times that I'd use both jumps instantly and die looking for my 2nd jump, lol. If you still don't like the controls after that, then using the 3DS is an option as well.

I agree with the name thing being annoying, there are a few times where I forget, and then have to restart what I'm doing, I'm getting better about remembering though.
