I REALLY want to get into the competitive side of the Smash 4 community but whenever I play there's 2 types of me:
"The Somewhat Decent Me" or "The Me That Gets His A** Kicked Constantly" and this always happens and is getting old
I don't have a Wii U in my possesion right now but I always play the 3DS version and even in that I'm slipping.
Has anybody else had this problem and gotten out of it? Do you have any tips or advice?

The underlined, italic words above this post told me to summarize this issue into something along the lines of the keyword, "improvement". Even though you only have a 3DS, that's fine. I mean it's still Sm4sh just with a 3DS. Same physics and everything. I know @HypestTeam hosts online 3DS tournaments so that might be worth a look and Smashladder.com can host 3DS matches. My point is that it will make great practice. Just train, break your habits so others don't turn them into an advantage for themselves. These videos also can teach you good ways to improve:

I'm just trying to give or at least remind you what you can work with to improve your Smash game, that's all.

Keep practicing until you can play consistently each game. Take each loss as a learning experience. Try the online tournament forum to find online 3DS tournaments to practice.
