Anyone else going on a Quest for the Smash Coin?

Long ago, Nintendo held an event known as "Smash Fest" at Best Buys across North America. Smash Fest gave fans an opportunity to try out an early version of Smash Bros for the Wii U. Attendees were promised a commemorative coin. But as the event drew to a close the reps came up with a variety of excuses as to why they couldn't give out the coins, but that if we pre-ordered the game, and came back upon the release date, then the coins would be ours!

So TLDR, Gotta drive 3 hours to Best Buy again...anyone else going out of their way for this dumb plastic coin?

I don't have a Best Buy near me.
Like, I'm over in the country-side of south-east Ontario and I don't think there's a Best Buy near me.
If there was one and I attended the Demo and pre-ordered the game, I would turn that Coin into a button and wear it around like "I'm da bess"

Eh, I'm fine with missing out on that.

If it was a cool metal pin or badge thing I'd be interested. That'd be cool to wear around.

The Smash Fest was in Ontario as well, I heard that it was relatively empty compared to the U.S. smashfests. Apparently nobody in Canada expected it to be there either. There were a couple others in southern Canada.
I really couldn't care less about the coin, but my friend who I took with me to Smash Fest has been bugging me about it all month saying we gotta go back for the coin, because apparently we can pickup our preorders from any best buy, but to get the coin we have to return to the Best Buy that is very far away. Gotta leave at like 5 AM and rush back home before work at 12 AM. I expect to lose my job in the process but maybe I can sell the coin for big bucks on Ebay.

Couldn't you just go to bed early, then wake up early? I doubt it'll be worth enough to lose your job over.

But seriously, they should've styled it like the coins in the game, instead of slapping a gold Smash emblem in between clear plastic.
But, it's still an ok thing.

I'm sorry I don't see much profit in the coin maybe a few years later down the line it would be worth something.

I would rather spend my money on amiibos. Already have a shelf with their name on it.

It's not made out of plastic, the plastic is just the casing for the actual coin. The casing is also removable while the coin itself has a nice metal feeling to it with a nice gold finish.

I was super lucky that a friend of mine got to pick me one up from a nintendo conference, it's pretty sweet

Well, I don't need to go on a quest. Best Buy is, like, five minutes away from my house, haha.

I feel bad for you, lol. Having to drive three hours just for that coin is going to be hell...
