Anyone else glad about the delay?

I kind of don't have the money to shell out for Wii for a little while. This gives me enough time to get money for a Wii and I'll have enough money to preorder brawl soon. Also, January 24th is right near my birthday so I can always audible and get one as a birthday gift with brawl.

Lastly, it pleases me they are taking their time with this Think of it this way Melee's still be played six years after it came out, is two months really going to matter? I have a feeling this game will be the same, I'd rather have it as polished as possible rather than rushed.

I'm a little happy with it...Sakurai is the man and he is putting all his effort into it...the delay doesn't hurt me a bit...but how do we even know its delayed?....yeah it says TBD but.........

No it's awful, it's coming out at the beginning of a school term, even if I get it I won't be able to play it much, if at all. Of course, I could be a dumb*** and skip school just so I can play it which would most likely result in dropping grades in the most crucial year in school which can't be a good thing for my future.

In short, it screwed up everything.

I planned to lock myself away during Christmas so I could play it.

First of all, Why are you glad about the delay, either way you could get it later on once you've earned your money... Does it really matter that much that you get it right on the spot release date. You can't guarantee you get anything unless you preorder it. Other then that, why do you even bother telling us that your glad it got delayed, when you could buy it anytime after release date depending on if they have any copies left.

Agreed...that's for the American game, if they are holding it for more development time they are most probably delaying it here too as it sure as hell is not going to take an extra 2 months for Japan unless they are doing that.

That website posted doesn't seem like the most reliable source.

They only delayed it for Japan. Nothing's been set in stone for NA yet. I'll bet E for All will give us the info we need.

If they have to delay it, just don't push it back to 2008.

Hey idiot, what did I tell you earlier? The release date is February 10th now, it helps not to believe everything you hear. If we knew it was getting delayed in Japan to be developed we know it's gettin delayed here too despite people who still claim it hasn't. What makes you think they would be able to develop the American version faster. Like God, how am I right all the ****ing time?

I suppose I am glad, since I don't want to be distracted with all these different games I want:

-Super Mario Galaxy
-Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
-Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Plus, not having quite enough money at the moment, and I'd say take as long as you'd like! Make it the perfect game I know it will be!

QFT. There's too many games this holiday season, and I was just gonna spend a ton of time on Brawl and ignore most of them. This gives more time to play the rest of the games coming out.

It is now. According to a source I read, it was announced at a Gamer Summit in San Francisco that it's delayed until Feb 10th. At least that means we'll have a kickass game in the 1st quarter of next year, instead of the standard "everything good comes out in Nov and Dec, and the rest of the year blows."


As far as being happy about the delay or not... I'm happy that they have the balls to say "we need more time to completely polish this." I'm not happy about having to wait longer, but I'm not upset. I just accept that it's gonna take a little longer, and since there's so many great titles coming out in the next few months I think I'll do fine until Brawl comes out.
