Anyone else from Brawl having trouble adapting?

I played Brawl from it's release till recently before Smash 4 came out. So I wanted to ask, is anyone else having trouble adapting to the new physics and gameplay? Specifically landing lag, air dodging and overall just fighting? Maybe it's the lack of a GameCube controller I'm not sure but I'm having a very hard time adapting and it's costing me many losses.

It's most likely the control scheme, when I first played it, the game felt like a rebalanced brawl, still does actually. The controls are really the only initial problem I had with, but I got used to it in the demo. Practice against computers until you feel more comfortable with the controls

I only had trouble adapting to the circle pad. Not because it is awful or anything, but because I was used to playing Brawl with the d-pad.

It's the other way around for me lol I have trouble adapting to Brawl. I'll play 3DS all week then the one day I play Brawl I suck for awhile until I can get a grasp on what I'm suppose to be doing. Meanwhile I transfer to 3DS pretty easily.

Aside from controls, some habits you may have in Brawl may not good for Smash 4. You just have to break out of it. Though some call it Brawl 2.0, its still a different game.

There's definitely a ton of habits I'm having issues breaking. Like air dodging too much, trying to land and shield, adjusting to the abysmal landing lag and overall air game timing.

I adapted fairly quick, even though Pit has had nearly every move changed. Still not used to not having a C-Stick though, but that'll be solved soon enough.

I air dodge into the ground a lot I guess. But really, the games are practically identical.
Fairly sure I disagree with the notion entirely that the two are even close to identical. It's very obvious that the engine is changed significantly in terms of player contact, especially when you swap between the two for contrast.
