It might just be me... and I don't know why... but there are several moves from previous Smash games that I NEVER hit with and never found useful, that I find myself to use often and hit with often in this game.

Ganon's up tilt. I never, ever used that before. Now, I use it all the time when I think I'm safe enough, or to edgeguard, and I've hit with it so many times.

Ness' PK Flash. Used this a lot. Hit with it a lot. NEVER hit with it in Brawl or Melee.

Falcon/Warlock punch. Same thing. I just find them easy to hit with, especially Warlock Punch. Might be the added super armor.

DK's Side B. Same thing again. I never used it much because I never hit with it. Now, I use it a lot and get a lot of hits.

And more attacks, too. And I don't think it's just me. When I look at people on Youtube (especially with Ganondorf), they use for instance Up Tilt a lot more this time around. Is this just me, or...?

I did find myself using Ganondorf's Warlock Punch a couple of times on this one than in Brawl mainly because, of course, the super armor effect they added to it. Haven't really used his up-tilt that much since it can be pretty punishable for me unless I can find an opening.

Freaking Jiggglypuff SINGING IS scary when she do it.

I must agree, most of the move no one ever use are better this time around.

Olimar whistle I fairly use it more.

Kirby stone is faster that make it even better and less risky.

Ganondorf overall, especially warlock Punch, That a huge troll boost.

Im glad that move were entirely useless or even crappy as hell, were a really nice update in this game, there seem to be more usefull in many cases for the battle.

I think Sonic really wins this one by a landslide.

As for stuff for my personal tastes, I love how Zelda's Up B does damage now (although I will have to say I tend to make errors with the direction in this game and get stuck under the stage, something that didn't really happen in other Smash games as often as it does now.)

Jigglypuff's Sing was a move I never used until now, even in Melee due to it's potency.

Yup, I agree. It feels much safer to do the Warlock and Falcon Punch. FLUDD is much better too, even if the Customs are much more useful.
PS: I don't find neither one of the punches to be useless, but they felt more... risky before.

I find I've been using basically all of Villager's moves much more often than in past titles.

Yes, I haven't been using Luigi's fire balls which led me to fail(somehow). But then when I started using it I became very swell at it.

Just the opposite, I hate what they did to Link's spin attack in Brawl and Wii U. It was such a satisfaction to spin on the edge to a recovering foe in Melee...

Wont be ready till next wednesday.

But clearly mewtwo looks more usable

And for this threads sakes disable and confusion.

Disable: crouches to get all sizes and possible shockwave now.

Confusion: mewtwo doesn't fall when he does it in the air, the project becomes mewtwos when reflected, and mostly likely a buff easier to reflect.(the frame timing for reflecting is a really small frame.)

Ness didn't have PKFlash in 64 =(

But aside from that, multihits are a lot better since SDI got nerfed. Aside from that, though, I still want my tornado back on Mario and to get rid of the super soaker.

I’ve found Jigglypuff’s rollout can be used when the opponent least expects it to get in a good, quick hit. I can also use it while they’re charging up a smash attack, or when I want to punish some landing lag. I’ve even used it as a recovery when other options just weren’t safe. You can often avoid punishment just by rolling far away if you miss. Obviously not something to rely on but not as useless as people might think.

Sheiks grenade. Never cared for it at first, but it's so fun for zoning/mindgames. If nothing else i can always hit someone with needles while they are busy watching my grenade explode. Plus it often forces a very predictable roll. And as an edge guard mix up if i don't feel like going after them.

What do you mean :4pikachu:'s dash attack isn't terrible?

Yeah I am enjoy the increased overall viability of moves in this game.

We did it, fam. We have a game not cluttered with useless jank.

I use Jiggs' rollout occasionally to get back on stage. Not often because it's so easily punishable but it's a pretty good way to surprise people and grab the ledge if you do it rarely and mix it up.

Doc's Nado. Tbh, I never used nado at all in previous games because of what little they did, and how easy it is to DI out of them. Now it's a really good multi-purpose move that's hard to DI out of, and even if someone tried to do so, you can follow their DI by guessing and still land every hit. Also perfect for punishing air dodges as well, rolls, and spot dodges as well. I loves it.

Also, dash attacks in general. Remember how terrible Falcon's was for years? Now it's a viable zone-breaking option, and pops foes up for strings. It's practically part of his gameplan now when you think about, given how stupidly punishable it was in Melee and PM simply just for landing it, even if it wasn't on shield.

It was never useless, but I just started using Luigi's fireball more after hearing it canceled a good number of projectiles. Makes a good offense and defense.

:4ness: PK Thunder, never used it aside from recovery, now the move is awesome by itself.
:4jigglypuff: Sing, far more useful now, not good enough, but not completely useless.
:4marth: Counter
:4ganondorf: Warlock Punch
:4kirby: Stone, if they guard themselves after a drill it can lead to a shield break, which is amazing.
:4sheik: Down-B ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

PK Flash and PK Thunder, definitely. I hated them in Brawl and Melee and found them cumbersome back then, now I find them insanely satisfying to use. Th Warlock Punch getting a super armor effect has made it much less worrying to use compared to past games now whenever I'm playing as Ganondork. =P
