Not sure what level you are currently. If I go by your join date, you most likely haven't mastered the advanced techniques yet. You need to know how to shuffle all of his moves really well. That means being able to run>shuffle, or do it on the spot. Dash dancing is extremely important for captain falcon. Learning how to follow up on your combos will be crucial, and will probably take a long time to learn.

Hopefully that helps.

I have been playing Smash for a long time, and I main Marth, and I have those techniques down pretty well.

Alright :D I just wasn't sure how much you know. With Captain Falcon, the most important thing is being able to control your spacing with your aerials while still maximising the use of his extreme speed. Dash dance grab is a very powerful punishing tool, so learning his throw combos can be really useful. Spacing nairs can dominate in the neutral game, and I find if you get your opponent in the air/on a platform, uair can carry them off stage really well, and you can often knee them at the end.

What about the knee? If you've played long enough, you start to get a grasp of how much time you have before hit stun wears off after you've hit your opponent. Just matching this timing with the time you need in order to knee is all you really need to know. Again, it comes down to accurate placement of your move, while utilising the insane speed of captain falcon.

I feel like captain falcon and marth kind of have a similar combo style in that you hit them, then follow them after you know which way they are going (essentially seeing their DI and then following). Marth needs this because he need to be in the right spot to get the right hits he needs with his sword (usually tippers, but not always). Captain falcon needs this because depending on how you control him, you can land in very different spots, and hit in very different ways (especially with his up-air). Done correctly, you can make sure to land in the best spots after each hit and have greater success with your combos.

Wow, this is nice. I didn't think about the level 7 CPU DI thingy, and the Defensive Training part seems to be good start to practice positioning.
