I know the DFW area has tournaments, and I'm not trying to take away from those. In fact, I plan on attending some of those tournaments because they already have their stuff together and they can throw some pretty sweet tournaments. However, I won't be able to attend many tournaments in DFW because I have an hour to an hour 15 minute drive back through bad traffic.
I was wondering if there is anyone interested in doing some Smash Bros tournaments that live anywhere near the following areas. Sherman, Denison, McKinney, Greenville, Bonham, and Commerce. I'm going to be going around to CCCC, GCC, A&M Commerce, and just trying to see who would be interested in a tournament. I haven't decided where we would hold it, but I know that I recently held a Halo 3 LAN at my house with 30-35 attendees. I'd prefer to find a bigger spot, and I bet I will be able to, but if I could just get 30 people to come and have a tourney then I would do that as well.
I'd be providing some food/snacks/drinks for the first tournament at least. Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any tips for someone starting off a tournament I would take all constructive criticism happily. (If we happen to do so, just a note on my house, the 30 people parked just a few seconds down the road at the football field and people seemed to fit pretty comfortably in my house.)
