So, have any of you acquired a new main(or mains) in PM that you never used in the other Smash games? I've downloaded PM 3.0 recently, and so far I can say Zelda is my go-to character. I NEVER touched Zelda in Brawl and Melee. How about you guys?

Lucario (main) and Squirtle (secondary). In Brawl, I had neither the desire nor saw any potential in either of these characters. In P:M, I can easily see them as top tier.

Well, in Melee I mained Dr. Mario and in Brawl I mained Toon Link. I didn't know a competitive smash community existed until I got PM.

My two mains are now Roy and Marth. Their combos are so amazing if you apply all the techniques like SHFFLing and wavedashing.

Ness - although I played him occasionally, Lucas was just a much better version of him in Brawl, and in Melee he was mostly worthless competitively, although I did like to play him casually when I was younger.

Link actually. I've learned how to play with him WITHOUT HAVING TO RELY TOO MUCH ON TECH SKILLS :O

I hate his bow. My sister racks up major damage on me when she spams the fack out of it, but I haven't polished my DI skills so of course I would get owned by that.

Links the best. Bombs and boomerangs for days.

I'm fond of Roy. I dropped him in melee due to March outclassing him, but picked him up again cause he's mah boy.
I also wanna pick up mewtwo, his float mechanic opens up so many new ideas

I used to never touch marth - i just didnt get his skillset because it didnt hit that hard and his side b was confusing as heck. Roy occasionally but just for the lolz of fully charged neutral B's. ike was the first fire emblem char i really played but that was back when i was a noob and just spammed smash and B moves.

However recently getting into competitive smash, and aspiring to actually be good at the game, i've picked up and mained marth - probably my least played in melee and now my most played overall by far. I think hes a cool character capable of dominance and style and never saw myself playing him lol

Well, I migrated from Brawl to Melee so I had to pick up Marth there. When I got P:M, I dropped Marth in favor of an Ike that remembered he also has a speed stat.

My co-secondaries are Mario and Wolf, but Marth is next in line for characters I play best. Just, y'know, not really on the same level as the other three. I play him mostly in friendlies/casuals when people get tired of my Ike winning.

I played a bit of Yoshi in brawl and was originally unhappy with the slight changes PM brought. I've been playing him a lot more recently though and it's awesome. Kinda bummed you can't air-stall with his egg throw anymore.
I played Roy in melee when I was super young and I'm really happy to pick him up again.

I'm actually trying out a lot of characters I didn't like before, and greatly enjoying them. Pit, ROB, Wolf, and Zelda come to mind.

However, I still fall back on the plumbers and Roy.

Waaaaaaaario. Being turned off by his lack of...well...Wario, I stayed away from him in Brawl, instead choosing characters like D3 or Tink. I tried playing Samus a little, but...yeeeeeeesh. Dem nerfs.

Now I can kick ass to my heart's content as my favorite characters because A. the Backroom knows who Wario is, and B. they know how to balance a game.

ZSS...
ZSS in PM is probably the funnest character I've played.

I'm not cool enough to really main her though.
She's still my secondary.

I'm a melee fox main, but I play diddy in PM. I never ever touched him in the short time I played brawl, he just didn't interest me. But now he is technical and fast and kicks ass. I still play fox in doubles though, which is often because I LOVE doubles. Diddy needs someone with killing power to function as his teammate( fox, roy, ike, etc) so unless I'm really in sync with my partner (my melee doubles partner doesn't come to PM tourneys that much) I just go fox.

I think everyone should try out a new main if they find someone they enjoy. Sometimes seeing matchups through a different character's eyes can let you see what tactics are abusable or punishable.

Don't you dare ship them to my home. I don't wanna die.
Don't worry, our glorious leaders will be sure to put you in a prison camp long before they arrive. Thanks, NSA for protecting us. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go delete my history for mentioning the NSA.

But in all seriousness, I started using Diddy again because he feels like he is back to his brawl style goodness (I mained Diddy in brawl)... and Mewtwo. My god Mewtwo... I hated the idea of him using his tail, but now that thing is like 20 feet long...

I;m not even sure if Charizard counts, since I consider him along with Squirtle and Ivysaur to be Project M characters, but I never like Pokemon Trainer in Brawl and found him to be one of my least favorite characters. Which was a shame, since Charizard is my second favorite Pokemon (first is Jigglypuff) and I wanted to play as him without the stupid trainer mechanics. Come Project M, and now Charizard flies solo as an extremely fun aerial combo character. With new toys for him to play with like his Down-B, Side-B, D-Throw, and U-Throw, Charizard realizes that he can train himself better than his own trainer can.

I mainly used Falco only in both Melee and Brawl. In Project M, I picked up Ike because he was probably my favorite character in the Fire Emblem series and he's fast and hits hard.

I started using Mario with Project M. My friends and I enjoy "the sexual thrill of random" (playing the random character select option). And at one point, Mario showed up half the time when you used Random. So I picked him up because I wanted to be better adept at him when he showed up. Oddly, that then backtracked to making Dr. Mario a main in Melee.
