Nope. Kinda hard to reach a conclusion when the majority of players here still don't have the game for themselves just yet.

Maybe the Smash Illuminati already has things laid out for us though and everyone else's opinions will be silenced regardless :awesome:

Im pretty sure no items will be a staple to every competitive smash scene. I've heard 2 stock and 5 minutes, only time will tell.

LOL I am sure everyone is still developing their own rough opinions

Give it some time, 10/3 is almost upon us.... then the real fun begins

I will just be happy to be finished with the demos two minute time limit LOL it is so frustrating..... more than half the time my opponent is headed for the blast zone and I miss out on well earned KOs from the end of match :(

just two minute matches. those will probably not be the meta game

Ooohh.... No i would not imagine it would be, I was just stating the fact that I am excited for longer matches of any length and stock lol i have played the demo countless hours and I am ready for the full version. I think Smash 4 will develop an excellent meta.

Not gonna to be the same Meta (Knight) Game as in Brawl.
The SM4SH community think for years before this becomes true.

I think 3 stocks will be the best. As long as it's not a palutena spamming reflect against a villager spamming projectiles. They got a single stock and it was the most boring match I've ever seen. Aerolink just kept spamming reflect rather than actually fighting.

That is called a ruleset, not a metagame. Metagame is how the game is played- for instance, Melee's metagame was faster and more offence-based than Brawl's. Basically its the strategies and characteristics of competition.

That being said, I've heard 2 stocks so far, because of how long it takes to kill. No items is a given.

Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's, Lumiose City(?), not sure what the others are.

i get the feeling it's two stocks, five minutes, no items, final destination forms of stages.

2/5 and 3/8 have both worked fine. I'm personally liking the idea of doing 2/5 for the lower rounds and 3/8 for the main event (for instance, in a hybrid Swiss/Elimination tournament).

Stages do and always will depend on the tournament operator.
