Any good way to deal with rollers?

Up tilt doesn't connect on some characters like Olimar and Toon Link, but it works sometimes. Any good ways to stop rollers that you've discovered?

Depending on how tall the fighter is, it all comes down to precise timing with Mewtwo's attacks or grabs. Mewtwo can grab Wario, but those who are shorter than him could be a problem.

Yeah. Tech chase them with a nair or dash away and go for an f-tilt.

if they:

Roll in Front of you: Down B, Side B, Up Smash, Down Smash, Grab, Jab, anything quick.

Roll Behind you: Up smash (depends on their hurtbox), side b, if you react, you could do whatever you want so long as you can turn around in time to land it, but I would go for side b every time if up smash wouldn't hit or kill.

Roll Away: You can disable some characters that roll away from you depending on the character, but for the most part back rolls can only be punished when read and tend to require a dashing attack to punish. If i catch a back roll i cancel my dash with an upsmash to kill them early. Shadow ball has good coverage if you're expecting a back roll. Tilts are probably the safest because it's not likely you'll get punished or at least not as hard if you were to commit to another attack.

Confusion & Grabs can stop rolls

Confusion backwards if they try to roll behind you
Chasing where they would land if back-rolled & using confusion or a pivot grab
Pivot grab a side-step

To pivot grab, run past them, push grab then quickly point backwards

Often if you run up to them & they're on the ledge, you can just run up to them, watch them roll, then use confusion the other way.

Foxtrotted F-Smash to the other direction, chasing their roll with an upsmash, or charging up a smash waiting for the side-step invincibility to run out all work too. They're a higher commitment though so you'd want to sure that you can read their rolls.

Even shadowball can cover a sidestep or a forward-roll if a roll is obviously coming.

Grab, dash attack, and nair are great options. DA and nair have lingering hitboxes so they're good. If you feel like living dangerously, usmash is another good option at high percents. Risk is high (small hitbox on the ground and great deal of endlag) but the reward is also high (great damage and kills super early).

If you're trying to soft read, nair and dair work great, as well as up tilt (and obviously up smash against taller characters). That said, between his light weight, large hurtbox, and lack of a proper down smash, mewtwo doesn't like to remain in close quarters for too long (besides a neutral position typically favors the character with the projectile and/or deflector, of which mewtwo has both).

Pivot ftilt works pretty well. It can force rolls and creates some nice spacing.

I usually punish a rolling opponent with a Down Tilt if they're at lower percentages, and a Foward Smash if they're at higher percentages.

(Especially since Down Tilt can lead into combos.)
