8/16/15 UPDATE: HEY BUBS IM CURRENTLY WORKING ON UPDATING THIS BUILD FOR 3.6 AS WELL AS MAKING SOME ADJUSTMENTS: MOST BUGS ARE FIXED. I plan to have the updated release uploaded for your humble pleasures on or before Sept 1st.
8/23/15 UPDATE: THE 3.6 UPDATED BUILD WILL FEATURE:
  • bug and inconsistency fixes
  • lag fixes (battlefield!!!)
  • color adjustments
  • more costumes (and updated versions of current ones)
  • more custom music
  • zip format download
8/24/15 UPDATE: Anti's Competitive Build Ver 3.6 (not-beta) will be delayed to prioritize the release of a Tournament version of my build which will feature 3.6 (not beta). Anti's Tournament Build will feature an altered strap, css, sss, menu, results screen, a new music list, and labeled Starter and Counterpick stages (based on Paragon's List). With the exception of a Shadow skin (for club banner relevancy) and an altered Masterball>>>PMC symbol, there will be no alternations to character and stage textures. The Competitive build will be delayed release no longer than mid-late September.

10/8/15 UPDATE: Delays due to a combination of College, Marching Band, and officiating UC Davis' Project M Club. I'm still working on the builds in my free time though. Tournament build coming out no later than a month from now.

Hi everyone! There aren't many 3.6 builds out there yet, so I figured I'd give it a shot. My goal with this build is to create an improved auditory and aesthetic experience while maintaining the professionalism and competitiveness of the official release. Full credits for unoriginal parts will be released later cause #503errors don't make life easy. Here's a summary of what this build offers:
  • Custom Music Chosen To Fit The Stages (With Matching Titles!)
  • Custom Stages That Adhere to Project M 3.6b's Patch Changelist (Woah!)
  • Custom Costumes That Look Good (But not as good as your fine self!)
  • Custom Strap, Menu, CSS, SSS, Results Screens (Now you can see!)
  • Custom Character Select, Battle, and Results Portraits (Mostly handchosen from a variety of SJS's works!)
  • FIXED Toon Link Down Angled Forward Smash Glitch No Longer Taunts (Got it from reddit!)
  • Custom Announcer From Project Monolith! (Cause in Blue's Clues, everyone preferred Steve)
  • Custom Voiceset For Ganondorf Made By Me (Trust me he sounds great!)
  • Custom Smash 4 Style HUD (Get Damaged With Style!)
  • Not tested for wifi safety (Online Interactions Not Rated By The ESRB!)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although I have tested the build enough to ensure basic things work, I have not yet done extensive testing to weed out issues such as unforeseen bugs/lag/crashes that I am not yet aware of. This release is still at a young stage and I would greatly appreciate any feedback, suggestions, advice, bug/lag reports, etc. so that I may make the proper adjustments. With your input as my guide, I aim to have the build perfected by the time 3.6 (not beta) is released.
MENU AND OTHER SCREENS
Although we all love PMDT for their continuous efforts on such a great modification (unless your main was nerfed), I am not a fan of the dark purple/black look they use for their screens. In order to excite players, rather than depress them, I used brighter textures.
  • Strap Screen - Made using a modified version of regiwolfe's examples from his awesome tutorial
  • Title Screen - Edited to feature my PM club's logo
  • Menu - Retextured with a blue/pink galaxy image to keep the monsters away. It also maintains the color changing feature (e.g. turns a more solid blue after pressing Versus)
  • Character Select - Turn your frowns up side downs
  • Stage Select - Modified version of NyxTheShield's SSS
  • Results - Uses Colosseum results and maintains L-Cancel Percent

STAGES
Since 3.6b's new stage and collision data patch to almost every stage rendered 3.5 stages outdated, I used the official data files to create custom stages that were up to date with the new collisions and blastzones and all the other jazz. The mentality behind my custom visual choices for stages was to maintain competitiveness by retaining visual essence of the original stages, while improving the aesthetics. It was important to me to retain all visual cues, such as the spacing of tiles on the floor and other significant objects. For the sake of competitiveness and aesthetics, I wanted to make custom stages a better representation of a stage rather than changing the idea behind a stage so that the custom stages still felt like the original home turf. The only exception was Delfino's Secret because I didn't like it and it was new anyway. Stages not featured were unchanged because I felt that they perfectly portray the idea and themes of the stage. Just cause it looks awesome I'll spoil this stage before the spoiler does.

  • Battlefield - Used parts from CastleArena(sunset) and Intro Battlefield to create a battlefield that suited epic music
  • Final Destination - Not my work, just edited Libra FD to be 3.6b patched
  • Smashville - Not my work, it's Beachville edited to be 3.6b patched, just swap it with the original if you can't resist the oohh the trees were too pretty johns
  • Fountain of Dreams - Used Fountain of Fantasy's moon and background, but I liked the original fountain more
  • Warioware, Inc. - (Renamed Raveware, Inc.) Not my work, I just updated Theytah's Raveware to be 3.6b status
  • Distant Planet - At night! To maintain the competitive adherence to the official build, it was important to me to retain the fact that the platforms are shaped as leaves and mushrooms. Get good. Uses scenery data and some tree textures from Minish Night
  • Norfair - Now has an animated Ridley to blame your losses on. Get good. Uses Ultimate Pyrosphere as the base model.
  • Pokemon Stadium 2 - (Renamed PMC Stadium 2) Uses a PokeUtopia version of the stage and features custom PM club logo
  • Delfino's Secret - (Renamed Awakening) As much as I love Super Mario Sunshine, Delfino's Secret just didn't do it for me. I used Dive Into The Heart as the base model and used Scout's Light background since the pitch black darkness of Dive Into The Heart kinda bored me despite it's accuracy to the KH series. Of course, outside of aesthetics, this is still a port of Delfino's Secret, and NOT Drac's Castle, so it is definitely 3.6b material.
Costumes
My mentality behind costume choices was to choose good looking ones that are tournament friendly, so you won't find anything that has invisible limbs, misleading model shapes, changed movesets/animations. All portraits were matched to the costumes. Portraits used were made my me, the PMDT, and mostly SJS. IMPORTANT NOTE: For the more extensively altered wardrobes, there was only enough space to preserve Red Team and Blue Team color matching for the costumes. Green Team costumes for unchanged characters are still green. Keep in mind the note I made about the Link textures. Added costumes are:
  • Peach - Daisy, Lili Rochefort(Peach with Lili's style of clothing), Mario Kart Biker
  • Zero Suit - Uses a selection from a ZSS pack (3 zero suits, the 2 SSB4 shorts, 3 leotards), Green Lantern style. The white suit is made first in CSS in order to preserve Red Team Blue Team color defaults.
  • Kirby - Yarn Kirby *over purple*
  • Metaknight - Galacta Knight *over pink/yellow*
  • Ganondorf - Hyrule Warriors DLC Twilight Princess Ganondorf *over original*
  • Link - Hyrules Warriors Pack (minus Skyward Sword), Assassin Link IMPORTANT NOTE: the author of the Hyrule Warriors pack has stated that if 4 of these Links are played simultaneously there will be lag, however 3 is lagless. If you happen to be playing a game of 4 Links, Make sure one person plays Assassin Link to prevent lag
  • Samus - Other M, Corrupted PED, Full Charge Phazon, PED, an actual Dark Samus
  • Pit - Sans(white/gold), Red Winged(black red), Minty V2(green/white), Dark(Like Dark Link), Fallen, the red/white angel on with a halo and red eyes
  • Dedede - Masked, Shadow *Over Blue Shogun and Green Shogun*
  • Marth - Hooded *over purple*
  • Sonic - Shadow *over pilot*
MusicThe most time I spent on this build was searching for music for the build. Not counting tracks I already knew since the beginning of the search, this involved 4 months of searching through entire playlists, databases, and soundtracks. My main goal for the music was to make sure that what I chose FIT THE STAGES. Some tracks used are custom cut and loop edits of tracks that I personally edited in order to extend tracks or remove certain segments. Every track in the build was edited for balancing purposes (this build uses a global volume balancing code but that doesn't change individual audio file volumes). In particular, Ska Buffet has been instrumentalized, Gourmet Race by dj-jo has Kirby's audio cues removed, and certain segments of songs that may have a negative impact on gameplay have been cut. It was also my goal to find tracks that AVOIDED COPYRIGHT ISSUES WITH YOUTUBE. This doesn't mean that it's copyright proof, it just means that it contains nothing Youtube will mute my build for. That also means nothing directly from Square Enix (so I used remixes instead). Although in the off chance you DO happen to have a video muted due to my music selection, let me know and I'll make the appropriate adjustments. KEEP IN MIND the volume balancing and quality preservation aspects of editing resulted in me lowering the volumes of many audio files. You will have to turn up the volume/ adjust sfx/music balance to appreciate the music. Changes pieces are surrounded in ***asterisks***.

SFX
I used the custom announcer from Project Monolith, which sounds awesome.
I also made a custom voice set for Ganondorf which sounds even more awesome.

Credits and Final Statements
Through this month-long effort I realized that customizers, especially those who make custom material from scratch, put a lot of time and effort to produce awesome free material for the sake of fellow smashers. I would highly encourage you guys to support the authors of the original custom works I used parts/wholes from by checking out their other custom material. Please note that I have not requested nor been granted formal permissions to edit out parts of models I have used for my custom stages. To those authors: I hope you do not mind and I hope you will be pleased to see what I have done with your work. As stated before: FULL CREDITS COMING SOON. Feedback, bugreports, suggestions are always appreciated.

Download Link And Installation
http://www.mediafire.com/download/vdi386or7q6ut7r/Anti's_Build_(3.6)_V1.0.rar
1) Download the build and extract folder
2) Installation depends on your method of play (MAKE SURE TO FORMAT YOUR SD CARD AND DEFRAGMENT ANY FRAGMENTATION if applicable)
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: If you happen to get a black screen from the Title/Press Start Screen, swap out the title.pac file in the menu2 folder with the original 3.6b one.
  • Hackless: This build was created with the hackless setup. The folders are set up to be hackless ready so you should be able to figure out what to do. Keep in mind that it isn't just the pf folder that contains the custom material; the RSBE01.gct is also altered.
  • Homebrew: Delete(never simply replace because of the risk of fragmentation and such) the RSBE01.gct code file and the pf folder from an offical 3.6b homebrew pack. Move/Copy and Paste my build's RSBE01.gct and pf folder to the appropriate spots.
  • Dolphin: Follow the homebrew steps, then do whatever it is you usually do for a Dolphin setup.
3)Troubleshooting: Make sure to delete old files, and add new ones rather than using the replace command. Make sure you formatted to FAT32 or FAT(with 32kb allocation). If you still can't get it to work, use Disk Defragmenter to analyze and remove and fragmentation. I also recommend getting a high quality and performance 2gb SD card from Kingston, it helps a lot with performance.

If any of the music glitches up, it's most likely due to fragmentation of your SD card, so simply use a Disk Defragmenter to analyze and defragment the card.

If volume seems wonky: did you also replace the RSBE01 file? Also be sure to raise the volume and adjust sfx/volume balance, since my audio files are a tad quiter than normal ones (for quality and balance purposes).

Black Screen from the Title/Press Start screen: Swap the title.pac file in the menu2 folder with the original 3.6b one. You'll end up losing stylized "M" I made but that shouldn't be a big deal.

If you like this build, please give my club, the PMC at UC Davis a like at

@ Antispyware Antispyware Wow great build! I have a question though. Would it be possible for you to explain to me or show me how to make a stage 3.6b legal? I saw that you said the collision data is different, but I don't know how to edit stages to that? I wanted to make this battlefield 3.6 legal if possible http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=4844Thank you!
Legalizing a stage for 3.6b depends on what changes were mentioned in the changelist, which can be found on the official site, and any non-aesthetic differences that a custom stage has to the original. For Battlefield, all that was changed was the collision data, which had it's floor collisions(the stage's actual physical surface/skeleton) normalized to be completely flat. To update collision data, simply export the Coll. files (which are blue and are named MiscData[some#]) from the corresponding 3.6b stage using Brawlbox, then open up the custom stage pac and replace it's Coll. data with the 3.6b one(s). I would also do the same for Model Data [100], which contains the stgposition model, which contains blastzone and spawn data. For the particular stage you sent me, it appears to me (and I may be wrong) that it isn't the PM version of the stage since the stage looks wide, like the Brawl version of Battlefield. If that is the case, then the approaches you would take in addition to what I mentioned above are either 1) Replace the stage and platform models (the ground and platforms, but not the background) with a PM version of battlefield and make sure the textures of the PM battlefield correspond to the snowy textures, or 2) well the other method would require remodeling and positioning the ground and platforms to be the same as PM's but I don't know anything about that. Unless you looked through all the Battlefield pages of Brawlvault already, there might already be a version of that icy Battlefield that uses the PM battlefield rather than the Brawl battlefield as the base model. MonkUnit has a useful guide that covers the basics of stage editing with Brawlbox http://smashboards.com/threads/character-and-stage-editing-with-brawlbox.305039/. Some stages are a bit tricker than others. For example, for my custom version of Dive Into The Heart (called Awakening in my build) that replaces Delfino's Secret, I had to change the positions and movement of the platforms of the custom stage using 3.6b's model and animation data for Delfino's Secret. I hope I managed to help you out. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Good Luck!

Good Luck!
Thanks a lot! I found a PM version of that texture right here http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=27372
I appreciate the help!

is it possible for me just to have the CSP's and alternate costumes and nothing else? If so, let me know.

Similar to Blaziken's question, is it possible to download just the Delfino>Awakening stage mod?
Hi Kmatt, sure thing. As soon as I have time to, I'll upload Awakening onto Brawlvault so that I may give proper credits to the authors of Light and Dive Into The Heart and then reply with the link. If you later choose to just get it from the build, keep in mind I may have used a st_dolpic.rel file (luigi's mansion>delfino plaza) in the modules folder to make the stage work.

Aww, you haven't downloaded and tried my build? :(((((. Just Kidding. For the CSP's, I'm assuming you have and know how to use Brawlbox to put them into your CSS. Sure, when I have the time to, I'll upload a pack with the CSP's and alternate costumes that will be available on Brawlvault (special4u). I'll also include the Battle Portraits, and Results Portraits, since those seem pretty relevant.

Thanks, it's just that the download takes 4 hours because it's 1.2 gb and I wanted to see an alternate. Thanks so much for this! I'm really happy you're going through with my request.

Bug?: There's a Zelda Skyward Sword CSP, but no model with it.
Also, Kirby has default CSPs which I'm unsure if is intentional or not.

Random, but if you are looking for any good skins that have CSPs to go with your pack, I highly recommend Conductor Toon Link. :)

I don't know if this has been said already but the camera during the result screen acts weird sometimes. It'll angle off in some strange way.

Yes, it's not just you, I have been notified of that issue before. I should be able to have it fixed upon my update of the build, which I plan to release on or before August 9. Thanks for trying out the build, and let me know of any other quirks you may find.

AH! I forgot to that I was gonna put in Skyloft Zelda! Thanks for catching that, I'll have it included in the build update. The CSP's chosen were a mix between default, SJS, and ones I made. In Kirby's case I preferred the defaults and made a CSP for yarn since none existed yet that I knew of. Thanks for the recommendation on Conductor Toon Link. If you had to swap out a default Toon Link Skin, which would you remove for the Conductor?

I usually remove the Red Outset link, because of the convenient placement and it being a skin I never use. although it's defaulted to remove the Dark Toon link one but I think too many people use that to replace it. :)

Oh, I didn't know if you knew this but the SJS has a Yarn Kirby CSP in the pose you used for Kirby's character select, and I think in all the others also.

Meta Knight +Ness+Final Destination =Freeze.
Are you sure? I was playing those earlier and it didn't freeze.

Oh, also a bit nit picky but the daisy skin for peach and the CSP for it are two different models. It's not important but it's kinda weird.

I'm not trolling. If I was, I would put "Kappa" next to my post.
I'll take you for your word then, sorry for misunderstanding your intentions. In future reports, please give me details alongside the issues so that I can have an idea of what you are talking about.
  • Regarding the FD freeze, I'll have to check that out myself later. Can you tell me at what point of the battle did the freeze occur?
  • Buzz : Can you tell me where you are experiencing a buzzing noise?
  • Null files: Null files are found throughout many files of Project M's official release. If you are concerned about any of the common#.pac files consisting only of null files, such as common5, that is because Project M dev team decided to move those files into other folders. Any null/static/novalue files found through Brawlbox are most likely supposed to be as they are for Project M's purposes.

1. Thanks.
2. When I played Final Destination with Meta Knight against Ness, Ness used Pk fire on me. Then the game froze, and made that terrible buzzing.
3. Do you know where the files were moved?

Since 3.6b is the only version I've done a lot of customization on, I've only seen older versions of PM through brawlbox enough times to know that what used to be in the common#.pac files were relocated to other folders within the pf folder. I believe in 3.6b was when most, if not all the of files within the common#.pac files were relocated, but they shouldn't be too hard to find, since they should be within the pf folder's folder of a relevant name. Is there a specific file you need help looking for?

I want to add Ultimate Brinstar. So I'm looking for SSS icons.

Okay, so when I load up Project M normally with this build. I can't explain it... I have video footage.
Dont mind the background noise, but just watch. (It also crashes a few minutes after with a buzzing/ EEEEEE sound.)

Please don't get mad at me and think of me wrong.
I'll probably figure out the solution if I read your post again.
(And when choosing "Pokemon Trainer", it says. FIGHTING ALLOY TEAM!, Obviously instead of Mewtwo)

I'm afraid of playing with this build and encountering freezes, crashes, glitches etc . Any known bugs so far?

There are some minor bugs, mostly lag if doubles on battlefield or demanding character texture on battlefield. There has been one report of freezing midgame, but I have not experienced any freezes midgame during my experience with the build. Regarding the issue loading issue, I myself do not have much experience loading through homebrew, but I have reports from homebrew loaders that say it runs fine. I'm guessing it was installed incorrectly on your SD card. Let me know how things turn out if you decide keep trying. I'm still working on fixes and I'm planning on an updated release in a week.

Oh my god, I am so sorry. This isn't your fault, this is mine and this had nothing to do with the build.
I renamed my SD card to Project M... and that somehow ruined everything.

REMEMBER KIDS! DON'T RENAME YOUR SD TO PROJECT M! IT WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE!
