I have AVG.....but I don't think that crap works. I was on the web one day and all of a sudden some personal anti virus software popped up saying I had trojans all throughout my hardrive. I ran an AVG scan and it came up with nothing. I restarted my computer but then I had that one anti virus software pop up and just stay there. I can't close it out.....it stays as a tab the whole time and doesn't let me close it. Now I keep getting virus warning popups ever minute but AVG still shows nothing. To further complicat ematters certain websites won't even load now and when I go into my Windows Defender section it says that i'm not protected from spyware and viruses......but when I go into AVG it says that everything is working properly........................can anyone help me out?

Try uninstalling AVG and Re-installing it. Sometimes that can fix your problem.

Didn't work. Anyone else?
Well have you tried any other anti-virus software? I have Advance Systemcare Free, which looks for registry errors, trojans, things like that. I recommend trying it, It finds things that my AVG doesn't.

What does the pop-up say? Could be that you have some rogue security product ad-ware on your computer. Nearly the same thing happened to me (when I was still a Windows user, lol) but Webroot caught it. Sometimes a security system hasn't downloaded definitions for certain types of malware (ad-ware, spy-ware, viruses, etc.). If this is the case, then you have clicked the ad-ware pop-up and thus, the pop-up downloaded a virus and AVG can't find it. The world sucks. And so does Windows.

The solution? Try updating AVG and make sure you are registered, and have the latest version and all that good stuff.

The permanent solution? Install Linux.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Linux doesn't prevent everything. And there's a reason Windows accounts for most of the world's software sales.

Getting back on topic, I would say that the best thing to do is see if there's any way to remove the issue manually from an external source; that is, delete the infected files from that computer using another computer in your network.

Linux has problems LOTS of them but virus's isn't one man. Also windows had popularity which feeds into itself in the tech business.

But seriously get malwarebytes for all computers run, problem solved.
