I don't see why it really matters.

After all, in a tournament are you going to be facing CPUs or actual players?

I don't really see why this warrants its own thread when silly mistakes from the AI are pretty common.

May I refer you to the classic Level 9 CPU :nessmelee: on Jungle Japes trick?

I know that the focus is on PvP and I never play against CPU's but this just stupid to be able to win a game by doing... nothing even if it is a CPU on the lowest difficulty.

Really wish the CPUs were smart at all... Maybe then Classic and stuff would be fun. Even on FD they're terrible and don't have a clue how to deal with safe attacks.

At least Amiibo can be trained to play defense properly. Offense? Ehhhh...

You do realize how scripted this video is, right.

I think the fact that CPUs still don't understand stages that have been in three games now is telling enough. But there's more...

Pit, WFT, and Doc all fail their recoveries for different reasons. CPUs fail to recognize simple hazards such as walk-offs. They use custom moves like the originals, even Miis and Palutena. Their understanding of moves is generally poor. Their pathfinding for larger stages is god-awful. They can't aim recoveries that aren't simple rising attacks properly. They're terrible with gimmick moves such as the KO punch or charging Thoron. Worst of all, they have virtually no offensive capability.

I mean, after 15 years you'd expect the CPU to understand how to deal with simple things like dodging Falco's laser spam.

It's one thing to legitimately want better Ai, I'm sure we all do, but the reasoning OP provides is volume 3 of a guy exploiting cpus by picking stages that would potentially forcefully screw them up. 75m, Orbital Gate, Halberd, Skyworld, and Windy Hill had a high seed in his choice of stage selection simply because he knew he could exploit their flaws in stages like these.

If that's what you can do to CPUs by doing nothing, imagine what happens when you actually fight.

And like a third of the game are these gimmick stages. It's just sad that CPUs will gleefully ride T&C's platforms to their doom.
